Objective:
To apprehend social representation of health care professionals on HIV/AIDS and to compare it with a subgroup of physicians.
Method:
Qualitative research based on the Theory of Social Representations. Free associations for the term HIV/AIDS were collected from 73 workers of public services specialized in HIV/AIDS, in Salvador-Bahia. The results were analyzed in the EVOC software.
Results:
For all health professionals, HIV/AIDS is associated with “prejudice, care, disease and prevention”, and for the subgroup of physicians it is associated with the term “prevention”. Health professionals represented HIV/AIDS similarly to society in general and, due to their normative character, prescribed attitudes typical of health care professionals.
Final considerations:
The findings show that, despite the advances in the health area regarding the treatment of AIDS, prejudice still persists. It is important to strengthen interdisciplinary actions focused on discussions on this theme during training, favoring the comprehensiveness of the assistance.

Objective:
to assess the risk of pressure ulcer development among hospitalized HIV/Aids.
Metod:
study quantitative descriptive with 35 patients admitted to an infectious diseases hospital in Curitiba-PR-BR. Characterized clinical and epidemiological of patients using a data collection instrument and the Braden Scale. Data was compiled using Excel® and a simple descriptive analysis.
Results:
two patients were found to have pressure ulcers and the most common comorbidities associated with HIV/Aids were pneumocystis pneumonia, caused by pneumocisti cariini (16), and pulmonary tuberculosis (13). The lowest scores were obtained in the friction and shear subscale, followed by the activity, nutrition, mobility and moisture subscales. The highest score was obtained in the sensory perception subscale. Two patients were classified as 'very high risk', six as 'high risk', three as 'low risk', and the rest as 'no risk'.
Conclusion:
risk assessment using scales provides objective information to assist with systemized and targeted nursing decision-making.

Objective:
to analyze the discourses about the care provided by nurses operating in Specialized HIV/Aids Outpatient Services in four public institutions of the city of Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil.
Method:
descriptive and exploratory study with a qualitative approach, which used as a method the discourse analysis.
Results:
when titling the "care as negative", such title came from the analogy proposed by Freud (1912) with the photographic negative, represented by what that care can configure from the unconscious movement, since nurses did not perceive themselves in the care actions developed by supporting the work of other occupational categories, contributing to maintain the ideology of biomedicine.
Conclusion:
it is necessary to justify and theorize a nursing clinical practice from epistemological issues of the profession, in such a way that nurses can understand their relevance within the care provided.

Objective:
to analyze the AIDS epidemic trend from 1988 to 2012, in a tri-border area.
Method:
Ecological time-series study with data from the Department of informatics from the Brazilian Unifi ed Health System (SUS).
Results:
A total of 1427 cases of AIDS were registered, and 82.1% were aged 20-49 years and 56% in males. The relationship man/woman went from 9/1 to 1/1 and increased the number of cases among individuals with more years of education, also, people aged more than 50 years old the age group from 20 to 34 years old. The most common exposure category was heterosexual, significantly higher among women; on the other hand, drug injection use was associated with male gender.
Conclusion:
seeking to embrace the changes in the epidemiological scenario of AIDS, nursing professionals should implement intervention strategies for people identified as the most vulnerable to HIV infection.
