Objective:
to develop a care-educational technology similar to a health navigation program for men during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods:
a methodological and qualitative study of a care-educational technology of health navigation program, structured by Program Development Cycle, with 16 patient navigators and 10 professional navigators. It used reflective thematic content analysis and an adaptation model for data processing.
Results:
the ; navigation program was developed by: I) Observation of reality, problem mapping, needs assessment: content selection, creation of domains and questions; II) Theoretical-conceptual and methodological definition, creation of product under the elaboration of care plans, based on theory, process and taxonomies by a flowchart of operationalization of actions; and III) Self-assessment: qualitative research with professional navigators.
Final considerations:
the technology developed, with theoretical and methodological support, allowed to derive a viable navigation program compatible with reality based on the audience’s needs.

Objective:
to evidence the use of flushing to prevent complications from intravenous therapy.
Methods:
an integrative review in databases, using descriptors and selection criteria. Data were collected in 12 articles using an instrument and later classified, summarized and aggregated for knowledge synthesis.
Results:
it was evident that: the pre-filled syringe resulted in a lower occurrence of catheter obstruction; irregular flushing frequency caused advanced phlebitis; the use of Venous Arterial Blood Management Protection (VAMP) generated a lower incidence of blood infection; heparinized solution did not result in a lower central catheter failure rate; flushing volume and frequency were not predictors of catheter failure; flushing practice was not shown to be incorporated among professionals.
Conclusion:
there are disagreements about the volume, frequency, solution and devices used in flushing. New technologies can reduce complications such as obstruction and infection.

Objective:
to report an experience using the Team-Based Learning methodology for the development of a standard model for Birth Plans by health professionals.
Methods:
experience report on the use of Team-Based Learning to develop care technology, with the participation of 120 professionals from two municipalities located in the Midwest Region.
Results:
the use of Team-Based Learning in this experience enabled the construction of a Child Delivery Plan model based on the theoretical approach to the theme, a critical reflection exercise, an in-depth discussion, decision-making, after what a consensus was reached. The methodology enabled the (co) construction of knowledge in small groups, teamwork, accountability, and satisfaction among the participants.
Final Considerations:
the use of the TeamBased Learning methodology proved to be effective as a discussion strategy, building consensus and syntheses for the elaboration of a care technology aimed at the pregnancy-parturition period.

Objectives:
to describe the use of affinity chromatographies and laboratory serologies in the evaluation of immunodiagnoses during prenatal.
Methods:
quantitative study, characterized as a descriptive observational research. Data was collected from the records of 46 pregnant women who were in prenatal follow up in the Primary Health Care in a capital in the South of Brazil. The data found was codified and analyzed using descriptive statistics.
Results:
a mean of 43.1 days was found to take place between the request of laboratory serology and the evaluation by a professional. It was also found that 21.7% of pregnant women did not collect the serologies requested during the first prenatal consultation, and that the affinity chromatographies were only applied in 10.8% of the participants.
Conclusions:
in spite of the studies for the improvement of prenatal consultations, for the provision of new technologies and for the permanent education offered to the professionals, there are still questions that make the actual implementation of affinity chromatographies more difficult.

Objective:
To analyze the repercussions of the training of nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit for the management of continuous hemodialysis regarding the safety of critical patients with acute renal failure.
Method:
Qualitative research developed considering James Reason's reference in the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital. The data was collected with 23 nurses who worked for more than three months in the management of continuous hemodialysis through a semi-structured interview, and analyzed with the thematic content analysis technique.
Results:
There are weaknesses in the training of intensive care nurses for the management of continuous hemodialysis that become a latent failure. Such a failure results in difficulties in handling hemodialysis, with risks for these professionals to commit active failures.
Final considerations:
The training program in service for the management of continuous hemodialysis must be perfected, to develop skills and competencies in nurses and improve their performance.

Objective:
analyze the practice of use of diapers in adults and elderly in hospital.
Method:
observational cross-sectional study, with a sample of 105 participants assigned according to the data collection period, from September 2013 to January 2014, in the surgical clinic wards in a University Hospital.
Results:
it was observed that 38% of the 105 participants of the study did not need the use of diapers. 18% used it because they were disabled and 16% had their cognitive system damaged. As they were hospitalized, it was identified that 51.4% of patients were there ranging from 02 to 10 days, and 60% used diapers for the same period. It is also identified that long term urinary catheter (24.8%), as technology associated to diapers in the urinary control and to pressure ulcers (12.4%), being the main complication.
Conclusion:
the use of diapers did not have specific criteria to be selected. For this, it was proposed an "Evaluation Scale of Diapers Use in Adults", as for indication as for its monitoring to help the study transposal for the nursing practice.

Objectives:
To identify equipment failures during handling by nurses and analyze the conduct of the professionals when these failures occur.
Methods:
Descriptive, exploratory and qualitative study, whose field was the intensive care unit of a public institution, and the participants were day nurses that worked providing direct care to patients. Data were produced in 2014 through systematic observation and interviews and were examined with thick description and content analysis.
Results:
The outcomes evinced the inadequate functioning of infusion bombs, users' errors related to the design of equipment and problems with batteries of artificial fans. These failures related to the management of equipment in the unit.
Final considerations:
It is necessary to strengthen the monitoring systems of safety conditions of equipment in intensive nursing care to prevent incidents.
