Objective:
To identify policies and programs adopted by a Brazilian municipality to address violence against children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Method:
A qualitative documentary study. The study setting was the municipality of Ananindeua, Pará, Brazil. Data was collected from official websites between November 2021 and February 2022. Thematic content analysis was used with the support of webQDA software.
Results:
Three empirical categories emerged: a) Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on violence against children; b) Action strategies for tackling violence against children in the COVID-19 pandemic; c) Evaluation indicators and targets for action strategies for tackling violence against children.
Final considerations:
The documents revealed few direct mentions of children, especially traditional populations; they presented superficial and ineffective evaluations of the policies and programs adopted, using exclusively quantitative indicators.

Objective:
to describe the translation, cross-cultural adaptation and validity process of the “Play Nicely Program: The Healthy Discipline Handbook” for use in Brazil.
Methods:
a methodological study that followed the translation, back-translation, expert committee assessment, and pre-test steps. The Content Validity Index (CVI) was calculated for both the judge population and the pre-test population. Four translators, seven expert judges in the field of child health and thirty participants in the pre-test, including parents, teachers and healthcare professionals, participated in the study.
Results:
in experts’ analysis (98.4%), a value of 100% of adequate assessments was obtained, and in the target population’s analysis (89.5%), there were 100% of adequate assessments. In both analyses, suggested adaptations were made.
Conclusios:
cross-cultural adaptation and content validity into Brazilian Portuguese of the “Play Nicely Program: The Healthy Discipline Handbook” were considered adequate for application in the target population.

Objective:
to identify the ideological perspectives of official discourses in relation to sexual violence, childhood pregnancy and access to legal abortion based on a Brazilian case.
Methods:
a qualitative documentary study. Data collection was carried out in documents published on official Brazilian websites, between August and December 2020. The analytical categories of gender and generation supported data analysis.
Results:
a total of 39 documents were selected and three empirical categories were identified: Protection against violence in the legislation and the (re)production of injuries in reality; Facing sexual violence against children by the Brazilian State; Being a Brazilian girl: gender and generational oppressions.
Final considerations:
the ideological perspectives of official discourses in relation to the case showed a lack of compliance with advances in Brazilian legislation on issues related to child violence and adult-centric authoritarianism, with the imposition of gender and generation subalternity.

Objective:
to identify the multidisciplinary health team’s perception on aspects of the physical and emotional development of children and adolescents who have suffered sexual violence.
Methods:
a qualitative study, carried out with 30 health professionals in a hospital in Bahia, Brazil, between June and July 2019. Data were collected from an interview guided by a semi-structured questionnaire. The results were interpreted according to Symbolic Interactionism.
Results:
some sexually violated children were under five years old and healthy, others had physical/mental disabilities. Victimized adolescents were in the pre-pubertal phase, with fragile body structure, not emotionally mature and unaware of sexuality.
Final considerations:
children’s physical and emotional aspects make children vulnerable to sexual victimization, as they facilitate the control and dominion that offenders need to have over them. As a protection strategy, it is recommended using sexual and health education linked to greater surveillance of family members, multidisciplinary team and educators.

Final considerations:
built from scientific research, the application has the potential to support nursing care, presenting, in an organized and systematic manner, nursing diagnoses, outcomes, and interventions, in addition to enabling the registration of cases under monitoring.

Objectives:
to characterize and analyze the experiences of families involved in domestic violence against children and adolescents, based on the Paradigm of Complexity.
Methods:
qualitative research, in which data of 15 families was collected through documentary research, open interviews and field diary. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis.
Results:
two categories “I don’t have it” and “I didn’t have it” emerged, revealing the historicity that marks the violence experienced in the present. They include social vulnerability, maternal burden, associated with urban violence to which families are exposed. At the same time, stories of violence by the intimate partner, as well as intergenerational violence and drug abuse have impacted the current moment.
Final Considerations:
nursing can contribute to attribute new meaning to violent stories woven by families, as well as to the interdisciplinary construction of perspectives and interventions that consider the multiple violence and adversities to which such a population is exposed.

Objective:
To unveil expressions of intrafamily violence experienced in childhood and/or adolescence by women who attempted suicide.
Method:
This is a study with a qualitative approach based on Oral Story. Participants were ten women with a history of suicide attempt, who experienced intrafamily violence in childhood and/or adolescence. The research was carried out at the Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide, linked to a Toxicological Information Center in the city of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.
Results:
From the orality of women, the study allowed the emergence of the following representative categories of intrafamily abuse experienced in childhood and/or adolescence: psychological violence, rejection, neglect, physical violence and sexual violence.
Final considerations:
The study alerts to intrafamily violence as an aggravation related to suicidal behavior, offering elements that help in the identification of their expressions, which will raise awareness to suicidal behavior and consequently suicide prevention.
