Objectives:
to analyze and determine the effect of a combination intervention of early ambulation and dhikr therapy on intestinal peristaltic recovery in post-open cholecystectomy patients.
Methods:
a pre-experimental design with one group pre and post-test design was used. The samples were 15 post-open cholecystectomy patients which were selected using the purposive sampling technique. The data were collected using the instrument observation sheet and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Early ambulation used standard operational procedure in the hospital and dhikr therapy was carried out at 2 hours post-operation for 10-15 minutes.
Results:
there was an effect of early ambulation and dhikr therapy on intestinal peristaltic recovery in post-open cholecystectomy patients with general anesthesia (Z=-3.442; p=0.001).
Conclusions:
a combination of early ambulation and dhikr therapy can be recommended as interventions to improve intestinal peristaltic in a post-open cholecystectomy patient with general anesthesia.

Objectives:
to understand circle dance as an integrative and complementary practice for health promotion in older adults’ daily lives.
Methods:
an interpretive, qualitative study, based on Michel Maffesoli’s Comprehensive Sociology of Everyday Life. There were 20 participants, 17 older adults and three focalizers in circles held in Basic Health Units in a municipality in southern Brazil. Data were collected through interviews and observation, between September 2016 and March 2017, and analyzed through preliminary analysis, ordering, key links, coding and categorization.
Results:
three categories emerged that express the daily life of circle dance with older adults: circles that spin; challenges for new circles to spin; entering, being and staying in the circle.
Final Considerations:
circle dance provided older adults with a feeling of belonging to a group, combined with pleasure and well-being, contributing to promotion of older adults’ health.

Objective:
Report the implementation of integrative and complementary practices in a Nursing course at a federal university in the fields of teaching, research and extension.
Method:
As a reference, the concept of nursing care anchored in the integrality and the avant-garde legacy of Florence Nightingale was used. The report is structured in two topics: the first describes the experience itself, and the second brings a critical reflection about the limits, achievements and challenges.
Results:
The interaction of integrative practices in nursing and its insertion in teaching, research and extension corroborate holistic care, favor the construction of scientific knowledge in the area and potentially requalify professional training.
Final considerations:
The insertion of integrative and complementary practices in nursing education can contribute to the consolidation of an integral model of care in SUS towards access and comprehensiveness.

Objectives:
to understand the meanings of Reiki therapy in the Unified Health System, based on the experiences of users and therapists.
Methods:
thematic oral history study, conducted with 12 users and 11 Reiki therapists, in three public health services, in the city of São Paulo, SP, in 2018. The interviews were transcribed and categorized, through thematic content analysis, with the help of the Atlas.ti software.
Results:
for the interviewees, Reiki activates a universal energy, offering benefits to the body, mind, and spirit. The engagement of therapists in such practice was motivated by the desire to carry out voluntary work. Users claim to seek this therapy to overcome a state of suffering and use natural practices.
Final Considerations:
the meanings and experiences with Reiki therapy are many, but they converge in the understanding of this practice as a producer of health, well-being, and quality of life, through care centered on the integral human being.
