Objective:
To summarize the scientific productions that used educational technologies to promote self-care for people with diabetes.
Method:
Integrative review carried out from October 2022 to January 2023, in the databases: LILACS; Scopus; Embase; PubMed/MEDLINE and CINAHL. The search was paired, and the sample consisted of ten articles. The levels of evidence were analyzed by the Hierarchy of Evidence for Intervention Studies, and the results were synthesized for interpretation of the findings.
Results:
The educational technologies identified to promote self-care were: mobile applications, interactive platforms, print, telemonitoring, video and simulation. The focus of the contents was on the promotion of foot care, prevention of neuropathy, self-management, knowledge, and expectation of people with diabetes and prevention of acute complications.
Conclusion:
The synthesis of knowledge about educational technologies to promote self-care for people with diabetes pointed to the need for robust evidence.

Objectives:
to elaborate an ICNP® terminological subset for people with diabetic foot ulcers in Primary Health Care.
Methods:
this is a methodological study that followed five steps: 1) Identification of relevant terms for the patients through an integrative literature review and official documents in the area; 2) Mapping of terms identified with ICNP® terms; 3) Construction of statements of nursing diagnoses, outcomes and interventions; 4) Structuring of a terminological subset with the Self-Care Deficit Theory; and 5) Content validity of statements constructed with nurses from a programmatic area in Rio de Janeiro.
Results:
the subset developed is composed of 81 diagnoses/outcomes and 583 nursing interventions, organized into universal, change and development requirements.
Conclusions:
the subset on screen was predominantly composed of statements inserted in self-care requirements related to health changes, reinforcing the importance of quality of life and recovery.

Objectives:
to correlate depressive symptoms, attitude, and self-care of elderly people with type 2 diabetes.
Methods:
study developed with 144 elderly people with diabetes; carried out in Family Health Units. A semi-structured instrument was used to obtain data on the sociodemographic profile; the Geriatric Depression Scale (15 items), the Questionário de Atitudes Psicológicas do Diabetes [Psychological Attitudes of Diabetes Questionnaire], and the Diabetes Self-Care Activities Questionnaire (DSCA) were also used.
Results:
it was identified that 24.3% of the participants presented depressive symptoms, and 93.8% presented negative attitudes of coping. A greater adherence to self-care activities related to the practice of medication was observed. In the correlation between the scales, a negative and inversely proportional correspondence was noted between depressive symptomatology and physical activity (p=0.010) and foot care (p=0.006), likewise between attitude and foot care (p=0.009).
Conclusions:
self-care in elderly people with diabetes mellitus is influenced by depressive symptoms and negative coping attitudes.

Objectives:
to validate the content and appearance of a booklet to promote the health of people with diabetes mellitus in the face of COVID-19.
Methods:
a methodological study, carried out in a virtual environment with experts who had practical and scientific experience in diabetes mellitus, from November 2021 to February 2022. Data were analyzed using the Content Validity Ratio.
Results:
twenty-seven experts from different states of Brazil and with different academic backgrounds participated in the study. In content validity, reviews were suggested in items in relation to objectives and structure, in appearance validity, adjustments in layout were suggested.
Conclusions:
the results showed that the booklet achieved adequate content and appearance validity rates. Therefore, when adapting to experts’ suggestions, it becomes an accurate tool.

Objectives:
to analyze the association between recurrence of emergency service visits due to lack of blood pressure and/or glycemic control with sociodemographic variables and disease registration in Primary Care.
Methods:
quantitative study, which consulted medical records of people who attended these services two or more times for 26 months. Descriptive statistics and multiple logistic regression models were used in analysis.
Results:
most people did not have hypertension and/or diabetes record in their Primary Care records. The absence of this record was more frequent in males, aged between 18 and 59 years, with low education and lack of blood pressure. There was association between greater number of people seeking these services in the same year and not monitoring the chronic condition in specialized care.
Conclusions:
people who do not follow up hypertension and/or diabetes in Primary Care are more likely to need assistance due to blood pressure and/or glycemic management.

Objectives:
to map and summarize the existing scientific evidence on parents’ transition experience to exercise the caregiver role of a child with 1DM, identifying gaps in knowledge of this experience.
Methods:
a scoping review was carried out based on JBI methodology, in two databases, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews checklist.
Results:
we included 31 articles. From the studies, constitutive elements of parents’ transition experience to caregiver role of a child with 1DM were found, which focused on the nature of the experience, the feelings and emotions experienced, the hindering conditions, the facilitating conditions, the strategies used by parents and the results or effects obtained.
Final considerations:
the transition process’ characterizing elements were identified, but not a theoretical explanation of it. Additional research should be carried out in order to allow a deeper understanding of this process.

Method:
a methodological study, carried out in three stages in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, from August to November 2018. The serial album construction and content and appearance validity were carried out by experts, and assessment, by the target audience. Content Validity Index and Concordance Index were calculated.
Results:
the judges considered the serial album content and appearance to be valid, which means that the material is suitable as an educational technology. Experts suggested adjustments, incorporated into the material for print production of the final version. The target audience also assessed the serial album positively.
Conclusion:
we realized that the serial album was considered an innovative educational technology in diabetes, valuable for promoting knowledge about Continuous Insulin Infusion System, with rich, updated content, combined with clarity, suitable format and explanatory illustrations.

Objectives:
to map methods and devices used to assess very short-, short-, medium-, and long-term pressure variability in adults with type 1 or 2 diabetes mellitus.
Methods:
scoping review conducted in January and February 2021 in MEDLINE, Web of Science, CINAHL, LILACS, PubMed, and Embase databases. Studies conducted within the last ten years analyzing pressure variability in adult and older patients with diabetes mellitus type 1 or 2 were included. Studies that used discontinued devices were excluded.
Results:
the sample was composed of 25 articles published since 2017, with the majority developed in Japan (n=11); with the predominance of the oscillometric method (n=22); the most used devices were from the Omron® brand (n=14); the most detected type was long-term variability (n=10).
Conclusions:
we observed the increasing application of the oscillometric method for pressure variability analysis with various brands and models of automatic devices.
