Objective:
to reflect on the perspectives of adopting the Progress Test in undergraduate nursing education.
Methods:
this is a reflective study, based on authors’ critical thinking and supported by national and international literature on the Progress Test application in undergraduate health courses.
Results:
the Progress Test is as a valuable teaching-learning strategy, with potential applications and benefits for students, professors, and academic management.
Final considerations:
systematic nursing education assessment indicates valuable information for different stakeholders. Understanding its potential benefits, the Progress Test is presented as a strategy that can be replicated in undergraduate nursing education, either individually, by institutions, or collaboratively, by the establishment of partnerships or consortiums of institutions.

Objective:
to build, evaluate and test two clinical simulation scenarios for the planning and management of infusion therapy by nurses.
Methods:
methodological study, with construction of scenarios based on the NLN Jeffries Simulation Theory and the theoretical model Vessel Health Preservation; evaluation of the scenario design by judges, with calculation of the Modified Kappa Coefficient (MKC); testing scenarios with the target audience. Results: scenarios built for: 1. Patient assessment and vascular device selection; and 2. Identification and management of deep vein thrombosis. In the evaluation by judges, testing of validated scenarios in relation to educational practices and simulation design, the items evaluated presented MKC values ≥ 0.74.
Conclusion:
two evidence-based scenarios related to infusion therapy were constructed, with high levels of agreement among judges regarding their design. In testing with nurses, good results were obtained regarding the design and structuring of educational practice.

Objectives:
to evaluate the effect of a training program on the administration of intravenous drugs in pediatric patients on the observed and self-reported behavior of the nursing team.
Methods:
evaluation study carried out with 38 professionals during three phases: Assessment of the behavior observed in the actions performed before training; Training implementation; and Assessment of observed and self-reported behaviors (immediately and six months after training).
Results:
in the observed behavior, there was an improvement in six (6/12) hand hygiene actions; five (5/14) pertaining to environment Organization, selection, and preparation of materials; and in seven (7/10) referring to the Orientation of the procedure, administration and monitoring of the patient’s reactions. In self-reported behavior, there was an improvement in two (2/8) actions.
Conclusions:
the training resulted in an improvement in the actions of nursing professionals related to the administration of intravenous medications, both in observed and in self-reported behavior.

Objective:
to analyze the self-reported knowledge of professors in the use of feedback in the teaching of nursing practice; train professors to use this process; and evaluate the results of this training.
Method:
a qualitative study of research-action type. The focus group technique was used with seven collaborators of a nursing technical school. For content analysis, the Bardin framework was used and, for intervention, the Problematization Methodology supported by Pendleton’s Rules.
Results:
most present in their curricula training to teach. It is pointed out that feedback is a simple and essential assessment tool, although universal discourse does not express the exact dimension of feedback potentialities. The intervention was effective to solidify feedback.
Final Consideration:
this study shows that feedback should be disseminated and consolidated among the teaching staff of nursing technical education.

Objective:
to describe the contributions of clinical simulation for learning cognitive and procedural attributes through debriefi ng, from the perspective of nursing students.
Method:
descriptive exploratory study. Twenty nursing undergraduate students from a university in the interior of the state of São Paulo participated in this study. Data collection was performed at the debriefi ng stage. Student’s perceptions about the simulation, positive aspects and what they could have done differently were registered. The students’ statements were grouped according to the central themes and the framework of Bardin’s content analysis (2011) and were analyzed using descriptive statistics.
Results:
enhancement of active, critical and refl ective learning (47.5%) was identifi ed due to the closeness to reality in nursing care (20.3%), manifestation of feelings experienced during the simulation (15.3%) and composition of the scenario (15.3%).
Conclusion:
the clinical simulation followed by debriefi ng promotes the understanding of the link between action and achievements in learning.
