Objectives:
to understand the process of adapting to childbirth during the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of a group of pregnant women.
Methods:
a qualitative, descriptive-exploratory study was conducted with 23 women. Data were collected between October and December 2021 through documentation and semi-structured interviews, which were analyzed using Minayo’s methodology and Roy’s Adaptation Model.
Results:
various types of stimuli - focal, contextual, and residual - were identified as influencing childbirth preparation. The online group was essential for facilitating pregnant women’s adaptation, offering significant support and generating positive feedback for childbirth preparation.
Final Considerations:
the importance of pregnant women’s groups as a strategy for improving adaptation to childbirth was identified, underscoring the effectiveness of this support among professionals and participants, as well as among pregnant women. This support network strengthened preparation for childbirth during a challenging period like the pandemic.

Objectives:
to analyze self-care deficit among older men in the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil and to discuss the implications for nursing practice.
Methods:
web survey, multicentric, qualitative. A total of 120 older men participated, applying a form from April to June 2020 and April to August 2021. Reflective Thematic Analysis, interpreted by Orem’s Self-Care Deficit Theory, was used.
Results:
temporally, the self-care of older men was manifested in the self-care requirements - affective bonds, self-care for development - meditation and self-care with health deviations - remote consultations. Fully, partially compensatory, educational/support systems mobilized self-care.
Final Considerations:
as care managers, nurses can strengthen the support network for older men by activating professionals from the multidisciplinary team, family members, caregivers and the community to promote self-care and correct health deviations in times of crisis.

Objective:
To reflect on the nursing and pandemic of COVID-19 considering health education, health promotion, and the Ottawa Charter action areas.
Methods:
A theoretical-reflexive study on health education and health promotion concepts and the areas of action presented in the Ottawa Charter.
Results:
Educational actions are present in the contexts of epidemics and pandemics, as well as in the work of nurses, who need to be increasingly based on dialogue and individual and collective empowerment to enable users to adopt healthy and preventive behaviors - in this case, concerning COVID19. However, this professional needs effective and efficient public policy actions and measures based on scientific assumptions of health promotion. Final considerations: The actions of health education need to be increasingly valued because knowledge can be considered the first “vaccine” to combat any pandemic.
