Objectives:
to describe the construction and validation process for a mobile application for development of the nursing history and diagnosis.
Methods:
methodological study conducted in 2018 in three stages: content creation, based on the Basic Human Needs categories and nursing diagnoses; content assessment by nine nursing judges, with calculation of the content validity index; and construction of the application, which included definition of the requirements, a conceptual map, implementation and prototyping options, tests and implementation.
Results:
the application was organized by sections: Grouped Basic Human Needs, Cranial pair tests, Clinical assessment scales and Additional tests. Two section were adjusted according to the judges’ suggestions.
Final Considerations:
it is the first application produced in Brazil based on the Basic Human Need categories, which enables quick access to information, concepts and typical nomenclatures of semiology, recording of clinical data and definition of nursing diagnoses.

Objective:
To evaluate, in Nursing students, the effect of clinical simulation as an educational strategy for learning about the cardiovascular physical examination.
Methods:
Quasi-experimental study, with the placement of 30 undergraduate nursing students, from a public university in Northeast Brazil, in two groups - intervention and control. The educational intervention consisted of a clinical simulation applied to the intervention group. The control group received only the usual class. Pre-test and post-test were applied with questions about cardiovascular physical examination for both groups. In the inferential analysis, we used chi-square or Fisher’s exact tests for categorical variables; and the Student’s t-test for independent samples.
Results:
The results showed that the difference in correct answers between the intervention and control groups was statistically significant, with a value of p of 0.05.
Conclusion:
We concluded that the applied educational strategy had a positive effect on undergraduate nursing students to learn the cardiovascular physical examination.

Objective:
To identify critical incidents (situations, behaviors and feelings) during practical activities, involving knowledge and skills related to the discipline of Semiology and Semiotics.
Method:
Descriptive research using the critical incident technique, with the Snow Ball technique for the selection of participants and an instrument for collection of data. The reports were categorized according to the elements of the critical incident (situations, behaviors and feelings).
Results:
A total of 62 reports from senior (n = 46), sophomore and junior (n = 16) students were analyzed. The students were predominantly female (90.3%). The majority described a situation of a physical examination, expressed mastery of the skills necessary for the activity and reported positive feelings.
Conclusion:
The reports showed that the knowledge and skills acquired in the discipline allowed for a development of practical activities with familiarity and positive feelings. The importance that the students attribute to the recognition of the activities by the professor, the patient and family stands out.
