Objectives:
to validate the content of a guidance guide on self-care in the postoperative period of breast surgery for breast cancer.
Methods:
a methodological study with content validity, carried out with 15 expert nurses and physiotherapists, between May and July 2022. Recruitment took place from the Lattes Platform, using snowball sampling. The level of relevance and representativeness for each item was verified using the Content Validity Index (CVI). It was considered valid when CVI was equal to or greater than 78% (0.78).
Results:
from the initial total of 37 items, two were excluded, as they had insufficient practical relevance and theoretical relevance, and another five items which, although presenting a CVI lower than the established cut-off, were suggested to be rewritten and grouped with other similar items.
Conclusions:
thirty items were considered valid and demonstrated important and significant characteristics, constituting suitable material for application in clinical practice.

Objectives:
to map the strategies for managing thirst in postoperative adult patients.
Methods:
scoping review was conducted in October 2021 in 19 data sources: 14 databases and 5 platforms to search in the grey literature. It was prepared according to the recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute and the checklist of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews. Nine selected articles were part of the final sample.
Results:
there is evidence of strategies to manage postoperative thirst using interventions such as water, ice, mentholated measures, carbohydrate and protein enriched fluid, oral hydrator, flavored gargling, cold gargling, wet gauze, 0.75% citric acid spray, and cold water.
Final Considerations:
the strategies observed may be reduced to cold and menthol use, salivary stimulants, and early introduction of fluids. The outcomes were positive in all the studies reviewed.

Objectives:
to identify the main doubts regarding the immediate postoperative care of patients with orofacial clefts undergoing orthognathic surgery.
Methods:
cross-sectional, quantitative study, developed in a public and tertiary hospital, between November 2017 and May 2018. Data collection occurred through interviews during the preoperative nursing consultation. An instrument was used to describe doubts, which later were grouped according to the subject.
Results:
48 patients participated. The doubts referred to sun exposure (56%), food/mastication (48%), the relationship between intermaxillary block-breathing-vomiting (48%), oral hygiene (31%), physical activity restriction (27%), nasopharyngeal cannula, removal of surgical stitches, hospitalization time and speech/communication (23%), bleeding, cryotherapy, facial massage, aesthetic and functional results, healing, edema/ecchymosis, postoperative pain, and changes in facial sensitivity (21%).
Conclusions:
the doubts were related to food, the period of convalescence, care for the surgical wound, postoperative complications, and medications.

Objective:
To analyze the scientific literature on the application of management tools in the postoperative period of pediatric cardiac surgery.
Methods:
integrative review including studies published between 2004 and 2018 in the following databases: LILACS, BDENF, coleciona SUS, MEDLINE/PUBMED, CINAHL and SCOPUS, via Portal de Periódicos da Capes, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Academic Google research.
Results:
Twelve articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The studies demonstrated that strategies such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, renal replacement therapy and the risk scores for Risk Adjustment for Congenital Heart Surgery 1 and Aristotle Basic Score favored the stratification the demand for care and predicted the risk for mortality.
Final considerations:
The applicability of risk scores and emerging strategies for the management of childcare in the postoperative period of cardiac surgery was described by the evaluation of possibilities of performance and/or efficiency of the treatments developed.

Methods:
analytical and cross-sectional study, developed in a public and tertiary hospital between October 2017 and February 2018. The sample consisted of 46 participants. Data collection occurred during the preoperative nursing consultation through interview. The doubts were described in a form prepared by the researchers and later grouped by similarity of the subject.
Results:
doubts referred to diet (type of food, consistency, temperature and time period), surgical wound care (oral hygiene, graft rejection, removal of surgical points), post-operative complications (bleeding and edema), convalescence period (sun exposure, physical effort, time away from activities, length of stay) and medications.
Conclusions:
identifying the doubts allowed planning and implementing nursing care focused on the real needs of the clientele, favoring the rehabilitation process.

Objective:
To identify the main questions of informal caregivers of children with hearing impairments on the postoperative care of cochlear implant.
Method:
Cross-sectional study developed in a public and tertiary hospital of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The sample consisted of 48 informal caregivers who were monitoring children subjected to cochlear implant. Data collection took place during the preoperative nursing consultation, by structured interview, between September 2016 and July 2017. The questions identified were categorized by similarity.
Results:
The questions were related to: rest, dressing, feeding, length of stay, system activation time, infection, removal of stitches, bleeding, medicines, immediate sound stimulation, and pain.
Conclusion:
The prevalent questions were about rest, dressing, and feeding, and identifying them made it possible to plan and implement a nursing care aimed at the caregiver needs, as well as prepare them for care maintenance after hospital discharge.
