Objectives:
to evaluate the measurement properties of the Advanced Practice Nursing Competency Assessment Instrument – Brazilian version, in the hospital environment.
Methods:
a methodological study conducted in a hospital with 238 nurses. Three instruments collect the data: sample characterization form, Brazilian version of the Advanced Practice Nursing Competency Assessment Instrument, and the category “therapeutic interventions” of the nurse competence scale. Construct validity was verified by confirmatory factor analysis and Spearman’s correlation coefficient, and reliability by Cronbach’s Alpha and composite reliability.
Results:
in the factor analysis, the model converged to a satisfactory result. The study found acceptable evidence of reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha, 0.76-0.87; and composite reliability, 0.85-0.90).
Conclusions:
the instrument demonstrated evidence of construct validity and internal consistency and can be used in practice

Objectives:
to analyze the experience of resident nurses with preceptorship contributions to the development of common clinical and managerial skills acquired in pedagogical projects.
Methods:
exploratory qualitative research developed in two stages: document analysis of pedagogical projects and semi-structured interviews with residents. Content analysis was carried out based on the framework of the nurse’s work process and skills.
Results:
the pedagogical projects of the three programs foresee the development of common skills, mostly clinical and only two managerial skills. The 22 residents reported the contributions of preceptorship in the development of competences centered on clinical practice, focusing on technical procedures disjointed from clinical reasoning and the managerial dimension of the nurse’s work.
Final Considerations:
it is necessary to train preceptors and involve all social actors linked to residency programs to expand preceptorship potential.

Objectives:
to apply and analyze an educational strategy to develop management skills in nursing students to work in hospital practice.
Methods:
exploratory, intervention, qualitative study conducted from February 2020 to 2021. Fifty-four nursing students from a public higher education institution participated in this study, in which thirteen workshops were held to discuss management cases. Subsequently, semi-structured interviews were conducted using inductive thematic analysis.
Results:
the case studies addressed the management competencies of communication, decision making, leadership, and interpersonal relationships. After the intervention, the strategy was evaluated through interviews, identifying positive aspects regarding knowledge acquisition; and other limiting aspects, such as limited time to discuss the cases.
Final Considerations:
the workshops proved to be effective as teaching strategies for students, adding new management knowledge that should help their performance as future nurses, capable of reflection, and the subjects of knowledge construction for the professional practice of nursing.

Objective:
To map out and validate the core competencies for the training of advanced practice nurses in oncology.
Methods:
Exploratory-descriptive research with a quantitative approach using the Delphi technique. Initially, a matrix composed of six domains outlining 112 core competencies of the clinical nurse specialist in oncology was elaborated. The Likert scale was used to measure the degree of agreement. Data collection took place through the Google Forms® platform from February to May 2021. Data were compiled and analyzed based on expert suggestions and literature.
Results:
100 competencies achieved consensus (agreement level above 85.7%) in the first round; 13 new competencies were proposed by expert members; and 125 were validated during the Delphi technique.
Conclusion:
The mapping and validation of core competencies will allow the development of new training models aimed at advanced practice in oncology and future educational harmonization.

Objectives:
to analyze the process of permanent professional training of Primary Health Care nurse managers from the perspective of reflective practice theory, built by Donald Schön.
Methods:
this is a theoretical-reflective study.
Results:
the findings apply to nurse managers’ practice to deal with the dilemmas that present themselves in the professional routine according to their knowledge, skills and attitudes, anchored in the reflection-in-action movement, which unites the process of permanent and practical training reflective, favoring the development of skills relevant to management.
Final Considerations:
nursing health managers, during their ongoing training process, can develop skills to act effectively in Primary Care, reflecting in practice and on practice, deciding on the need to remain in training to address the issues arising from that same practice.

Objective:
Reflect on the evolution of pediatric nursing care from the perspective of emotions, from the conceptions of Florence Nightingale to the present.
Method:
Reflective study based on theoretical and experiential aspects of emotional care in pediatric nursing.
Results:
From Nightingale, there were many definitions regarding the nursing care in an integrative and humanist logic; and with certain bond to emotional dimension. That time, nursing care was based on the religious conceptions of charity and love of our neighbor and, despite the conceptualization that shapes nursing science today, such conceptions have not ceased to be its attribute, mainly in the care of pediatric nurses.
Final considerations:
In pediatric nursing, nurture care with affection and facilitate emotions management in each interaction nurse-child-family is crucial for caring. This emotional care should evolve into a competence that recognizes the expertise and merit of professional action.

Objective:
To analyze the constitution of critical thinking in nursing training in the approach by competence and the integrated curriculum, considering the evaluation process by capturing its challenges, and proposing overcoming strategies.
Methods:
Qualitative. In the first phase of data collection, interviews were conducted with twenty-four professors, nine preceptors, and fifteen students to reconstruct the profile of competence, and in the second phase, a workshop to validate the profile identified challenges and proposals. The Collective Subject Discourse was used to analyze the interviews and the holistic competence reference in reconstructing the profile.
Results:
The critical thinking is built based on experiences in the world of work, and evaluation is the conductor of reflections towards emancipation.
Final considerations:
It signals the importance of professor training in the learning evaluation and working with the collective construction of subjects to overcome challenges that happen in the changes of training.
