Objective:
To identify the relationships between the statements of nursing diagnoses for children with kidney diseases prepared according to the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) with the diagnoses of NANDA International (NANDA-I).
Methods:
Methodological study operationalized by the steps: 1) Survey of clinical findings through interviews and physical examination with children; 2) Elaboration of nursing diagnoses through Gordon’s clinical judgment; 3) Cross-mapping of diagnostic statements between the NANDA-I and ICNP® classification systems; 4) Content validation using the Delphi technique, in two rounds, with specialist nurses.
Results:
90 children participated. A total of 151 diagnoses were made, of which 66.3% (n=100) used ICNP® terminology and 33.7% (n=51) used NANDA-I; 55 diagnoses showed equivalence of meanings.
Conclusions:
Cross-mapping of diagnoses was achieved starting from the reality of children, using clinical reasoning and validation by specialist nurses.

Objective:
To construct and validate a specialized nursing terminology for the care of newborns with peripherally inserted central venous catheters (PICC), based on the Betty Neuman Systems Model.
Methods:
Methodological study, carried out in a public maternity hospital, operationalized by the steps: extraction of terms from medical records of neonates using PICC; normalization; cross-mapping with the 2019/2020 version of ICNP®; organization in the Seven Axes; and content validation with nurses using content validity index and kappa coefficient.
Results:
1,718 terms were extracted, and 372 relevant terms were normalized, with 265 constants and 107 non-constants. A total of 335 terms were validated, 246 of which were constant and 89 were not constant, which reached an agreement index and kappa ≥ 0.80.
Conclusion:
Relevant terms were identified, which aid newborns using central venous catheters; thus, a terminological subset will be contributed to information in nursing practice.

Objectives:
to reflect on the global understanding of the Nursing Process concept, with emphasis on the Brazilian context.
Methods:
a reflection article, aligned with the vision and expertise of researchers who are members of the Nursing Process Research Network.
Results:
the reflection is presented in two main topics: The evolution of Systematization of Nursing Care X Nursing Process concepts and its consonance with national and international practices, and Brazilian legislation; The Nursing Process concept realignment in Brazilian legislation in line with current care, teaching and research practices. Final Considerations: the reflections were oriented to the Nursing Process’ conceptual, normative and legal issues, including elements of its historical evolution, and, with that, pointed to the need to modify the Brazilian regulation on the Nursing Process.

Objectives:
to create nursing diagnosis definitions for newborns in rooming-in care, using the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP).
Methods:
methodological study following the steps for the identification and validation of relevant terms to care for clients; cross-mapping of the terms identified with the terms of the ICNP® 2019; elaboration and validation of the nursing diagnostic definitions of ICNP® and later classification according with the Basic Human Needs described by Wanda Horta.
Results:
from the terms extracted, 168 were validated through specialist consensus, subsidizing the elaboration of 27 diagnosis definitions.
Conclusions:
the most common diagnoses for the clients studied were: “Effective Feeding Behaviour”, “Effective Urination”, “Normal Respiration Rhythm”, “Effective Swallowing”, “Effective Peripheral Intravenous Access”, and “Effective Parent Child Attachment”. It was confirmed that the records of psychobiological needs are mainly made by nurses, which were responsible for 23 of the diagnoses in this study.

Objectives:
to describe the use of the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) in the construction of a nursing care protocol for children undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Methods:
experience report.
Results:
nursing problems were defined based on complications identified in a previous study; later, the ICNP® enabled the organization and systematization of childcare. The care protocol consists of 40 nursing problems, with their human needs affected, diagnoses and nursing interventions. The axes Focus, Judgment, Location, Action, Means, Time, and Client were used in the elaboration of diagnoses and interventions proposed in the protocol. Final Considerations: the use of the classification allowed the establishment of nursing interventions compatible with the needs of the child undergoing transplantation, providing support for the care protocol. It made it possible to encourage the use of classification in this context, contribute to patient safety and strengthen professional practice.

Objective:
To reflect on the nursing diagnoses in individuals, families or collectivity facing the pandemic of COVID-19.
Methods:
The Developing Nurses’ Thinking model was considered as a theoretical framework, and the phases of critical thinking skills were applied to the identification of nursing diagnoses in the general population in the face of the pandemic.
Results:
The systematic application of the seven critical thinking skills of the proposed model and the presentation of 13 nursing diagnoses and their respective indicators were performed.
Final considerations:
It is necessary to recognize the importance of incorporating nursing diagnoses and clinical reasoning in all contexts of professional nursing care. Further discussion on the subject is also necessary, with the aim of validating the suggested nursing diagnoses, as well as their indicators, in more in-depth studies of experience reports and clinical cases.

Objectives:
to compare the effect of adjuvant low-laser light therapy versus conventional treatment alone on venous ulcer healing.
Methods:
this is a randomized clinical trial with 40 patients randomized equally to a control group (topical and compressive treatment) and intervention group (adjuvant low-laser light therapy). Outcomes of interest were Wound Healing: Secondary Intention and Tissue Integrity: Skin & Mucous Membranes, as described in the Classification of Nursing Outcomes/NOC.
Results:
groups with similar sociodemographic and clinical characteristics. Eighty-two ulcers were assessed, with an average duration of 1 to 5 years, in 1,066 nursing consultations, with a statistically significant difference in the time and number of healed ulcers (intervention group). There was a significant improvement in the nursing outcomes under study and in eight clinical indicators.
Conclusions:
low-laser light therapy improves and reduces tissue regeneration time, contributing to advances in wound treatment.

Objective:
to develop an ICNP® terminology subset for the care of people with heart failure.
Methods:
this is a methodological study, which used the theoretical framework of the Mid-Range Nursing Theory for Cardiovascular Rehabilitation, with the steps: Construction of nursing diagnoses/outcomes and interventions statements and Cross-mapping of statements constructed.
Results:
forty-two diagnosis/outcome statements and 179 nursing intervention statements were constructed, organized based on five theory concepts, with a higher prevalence of statements related to “Rehabilitative care”, “Psychosocial support for patients and families” and “Supervised cardiovascular rehabilitation program”.
Final considerations:
it was possible to build nursing diagnosis/outcome and intervention statements for developing a terminology subset for the care of people with heart failure, based on the chosen theory.
