Objective:
to synthesize the scientific literature about the Theory of Meaningful Learning in the process of teaching and learning in nursing.
Method:
this is an integrative review conducted in the databases MEDLINE, LILACS, SciELO, BDENF and CINAHL with studies addressing the subject or aspects of the theory of meaningful learning of David Ausubel. Ten studies were included, from which six were written in Portuguese and four in English, published from 1998 to 2013.
Results:
five studies used the theory of meaningful learning, four studies cited Ausubel as the author of this theory and only two studies followed the framework for the application of the theory completely. There are only a few studies on this subject and those which explore it are not correlated with Ausubel’s theory.
Conclusion:
it is necessary to break with the dichotomy between theory and practice and promote the articulation of content with action, introducing the student as the author of their own knowledge.

Objective:
to interpret life histories of the oldest-old in a community, grounded on the perspective of the Active Aging and Life Course.
Method:
this is a qualitative research. Participants included twenty seniors 80 years and older, users of a Basic Health Unit. Life histories were collected and analyzed according to the proposition of the Autobiographical Narrative Interview.
Results:
during the analytic process, elements found in the elders’ present and past arose, contributing to the development of a theoretical model: “Building longevity along the life course.”
Conclusion:
longevity is rooted in the past, strongly infl uenced by the family culture and life course; assumptions of the Active Aging are more meaningful in the informants’ present trajectory. The content of the narratives pointed to new possibilities of Gerontology Nursing intervention in Primary Care, aiming at health promotion and intervention, specially grounded on the respect to the oldest-elders’ culture.

Objective:
to determine the accuracy of nursing diagnoses of fatigue, intolerance to activity and decreased cardiac output in hospitalized HF patients.
Method:
descriptive study applied to nurses with experience in NANDA-I and/or HF nursing diagnoses. Evaluation and accuracy were determined by calculating effi cacy (E), false negative (FN), false positive (FP) and trend (T) measures. Nurses who showed acceptable inspection for two diagnoses were selected.
Results:
the nursing diagnosis of fatigue was the most commonly mistaken diagnosis identifi ed by the nursing evaluators.
Discussion:
the search for improving diagnostic accuracy reaffi rms the need for continuous and specifi c training to improve the diagnosis capability of nurses.
Conclusion:
the training allowed the exercise of clinical judgment and better accuracy of nurses.

Objective:
to measure the organizational climate in the work of professionals from Family Health Strategy (FHS) teams.
Method:
a cross-sectional study carried out with 458 professionals belonging to 72 FHS teams in a municipality in Southern Brazil. Data collection occurred between March and July of 2016 with self-application of the Team Climate Inventory (TCI). Data were analyzed by means of a non-parametric ANOVA.
Results:
“Team Participation” was the best-rated domain (8.11), while “Task orientation” was the worst (7.51). Nurses obtained the highest mean in TCI (8.05), and dentists, the lowest (7.45).
Conclusion:
TCI is an appropriate and innovative tool for assessing the teamwork climate at the FHS. Identifying fragilities such as “task orientation” and relationships among professional categories of the team supports the planning of actions for organizational climate improvements and teamwork at the FHS.

Objective:
to report the experience of telemonitoring Brazilian nursing homes before coronavirus and COVID-19 infections.
Methods:
a descriptive experience report that occurred between March 18 and April 25, 2020 through telemonitoring nursing homes in Salvador, Bahia, following a script previously prepared for first contact and follow-up. The telemonitoring was carried out by professors from the School of Nursing of Universidade Federal da Bahia and Graduate Program students for four weeks.
Results:
thirty-two institutions were followed for four weeks. Some facilities and difficulties appeared during the monitoring.
Final consideratios:
as nursing homes are collective households, their residents are vulnerable to transmission of infections. In addition, the diversity of structures and economic, social and human resources needs of these locations reveal their fragility and urgency of public policies that address such diversities.

Method:
a qualitative research, whose data were collected with 15 nursing professionals from November to April 2016, through a semi-structured interview.
Results:
it was verified that night admission is provided by the nursing team in different dynamics from the day care. This team has strategies of care during crisis, avoiding search for other network services and maintaining the CAPS in its function within the psychosocial model.
Final considerations:
service operation depends on the nursing team for its permanence condition in all shifts, which leads to the need to think about the legislation reformulation that structures the CAPS III team, in order to guarantee the interdisciplinary care provided by the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform in this device, which should replace hospitalization in a specialized institution.

Objective:
to analyze the daily work of rural Family Health Strategy (FHS) nurses.
Method:
a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research. The data were collected with eleven rural nurses of the city of Campina Grande, Paraíba State, through semi-structured interviews, between January and March of 2017, using Content Analysis.
Results:
rural nurses have a strong relationship with the population. However, they reveal a daily work with various organizational barriers that range from the team displacement to the workplace to the operationalization of health actions, which are mediated by the characteristics of rurality. Some of these barriers can be remedied by a more proactive action from the management.
Final considerations:
conditioned by the characteristics of rurality, the differentiated dynamics work reveal weaknesses in the quality of nursing care and lower effectiveness of the FHS.

Objective:
to characterize the development of research on nursing diagnoses in nursing graduate programs and verify the application of the results of these studies according to the perception of academic advisors.
Methods:
documental research on dissertations and theses available from the databases of Brazilian universities with graduate programs in nursing, and exploratory survey on the practical application of their results.
Results:
216 dissertations and theses were analyzed. Most of them were descriptive studies, and the most widely used diagnostic taxonomy was NANDA International. Little practical use of the knowledge produced by the dissertations and theses was identified.
Conclusion:
Although there has been a considerable increase in research on nursing diagnoses, the survey stage revealed scarce practical application of their results, prompting the need for further studies in order to identify the barriers in the way of transposing theory to practice.
