Objective:
To be aware of the care rituals developed by families when preparing for home birth during the gestational process.
Method:
Qualitative and ethnographic research developed with families during the gestational process. We adopted the observation-participation-reflection model, and the analysis was performed according to ethnonursing.
Results:
Care rituals are related to the choice of home as a place for childbirth, being characterized as a family’s rite of separation to experience this process. Other care rituals involved the preparation of the family and the eldest child as well as the home, the body, and the mind of the pregnant woman, and the choice of destination of the placenta.
Final considerations:
We must understand the birth process beyond the biological perspective, considering women and their family as a whole, within a cultural context with their beliefs and values.

Method:
Analytic study of reported cases on SINAN – Information System on Reportable Harms (from 2013 to 2015) of violence to individuals under 19, in 53 cities of Minas Gerais.
Results:
1,481 cases were reported, 49.2% before and 50.8% after Law 13.010 came to force (p = 0.5501). There was a 7% decrease on female reports and a 27.2% in male reports (p = 0.0055). It was noticed a change in report patterns (p = 0.0023), with a 130.7% increase to neglect/abandonment reports and a 33% decrease to sexual abuse report. Higher rates of violence from the parents happens at the 1 to 9-year-old age group (p < 0.0001).
Conclusion:
Main victims were women, individuals from 15 to 19 years, with aggression happening within the household; after Law 13.010, changes to patterns of victim and offender profiles and of kind of violence were noticed.

Objective:
To analyze the discourses on the choice of the route of delivery from the perspective of women and health professionals in a public network.
Method:
The methodological approach is the discourse analysis. The data collection was through interviews and the treatment of the data was based on discourse analysis.
Results:
The categories were: 1- Between the preference and the decision there is no choice; 2- The complexity of the choice of the route of delivery; 3- It is necessary to legitimize the choice of the woman.
Final considerations:
From the perspective of women in labor the route of delivery is determined by the physician and women are not proactive. The nurses’ performance is timid, although their presence is fundamental for stimulating the physiological delivery and promoting the autonomy of women. It identifies the need for the physician to adopt a welcoming attitude, informing the women about the pros and cons involved in choosing the route of delivery.

Objective:
To analyze the experiences of gay and lesbian adolescents and young people in the process of revealing sexual orientation to their families.
Method:
A qualitative study carried out in a city in the state of São Paulo. Twelve gay and lesbian adolescents and youngsters participated. For the data collection, the semi-structured interview was used and data analysis was performed using the method of interpretation of the senses.
Results:
The family reactions in the process of “coming out of the closet” of the participants were violent, with persecution and even expulsion from home, in addition to the repression of expressions of homoerotic experiences, which impacted on their health and quality of life.
Final considerations:
The family is an essential component of the support network, but also a space that can generate and reproduce forms of violence in the name of heteronormativity. Health services should develop care practices and care for the family and adolescent and homosexual youth victim of violence.

Objective:
to identify the constituent services of the network to combat violence against rural women in municipalities in the northwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul and to analyze the articulation and communication of services in search of the resolution of situations of violence.
Method:
descriptive-exploratory, qualitative study, carried out through semi-structured interviews with 26 professionals from intersectoral services, as well as managers and/or those responsible for these services. Data were systematized through content analysis.
Results:
although the professionals collectively discuss and plan coping actions, difficulties were identified in the approximation between services, related to the definition of flow, knowledge of actions/referrals, fear of seeing and reporting violence, understanding that it is not a question of demand of their field of action, and women’s access to services.
Final considerations:
it is evident the need to implement public policies that address the singularities of violence against women in rural settings.

Objective:
To analyze the symbolic effects of the official military uniform of the nurses from Brazilian Army in World War II.
Method:
This research was developed using the historical method, with iconographic sources. The data were discussed based on the concepts of the social world theory, by Pierre Bourdieu.
Results:
The images selected demonstrate the own meaning of the uniforms, evidencing the functions and the social position of those who wear it, being private and obligatory to use it in the military field.
Final considerations:
In the case of the nurses from the Brazilian Expeditionary Force, the appropriation of uniforms promoted the visual communication representing military nurse in the context of war, at the same time it served for distinction purposes in the army, but not necessarily in the nursing field. Symbolically, they remained amongst the walls of the barracks even after the end of the war and, thus, they remained unknown and marked by the symbols of forgetfulness.

Objective:
To discuss the potentialities of using the concept of vulnerability to support measures for preventing and controlling healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
Methods:
This theoretical study was conducted in steps: 1) presentation of markers that frame the concept of vulnerability; 2) presentation of the characteristics of the health events to which the concept of vulnerability is intended to be applied; 3) identification of research gaps that could be potentially filled by using the concept of vulnerability; 4) identification of the potentialities of using the concept of vulnerability to deal with HAIs.
Results:
Proposal of a framework for analyzing HAIs from a vulnerability perspective, including the individual and collective dimensions.
Conclusion:
Using the concept of vulnerability to study and deal with HAIs favors a new approach to an old problem, unlike the dominant studies that highlight the individual aspects of the practices in healthcare services.

Objective:
To describe the investigative path of analysis and the operationality of concepts based on Martin Heidegger’s theoretical and philosophical framework.
Method:
Theoretical reflection on the phenomenon of pregnancy in a woman with heart disease.
Results:
Stages of the investigative movement were evidenced based on the pre-reflection related to the object of study and to the search for the phenomenal meaning, using the existential and analytical Hermeneutics as the approach and resulting in the reach of the phenomenal totality.
Conclusion:
The worldview of the researcher, who considered the subjectivities of the person in a health or disease situation, favored the announcement of the referential by the object of study. Knowledge production in the light of Martin Heidegger’s phenomenology unveiled phenomena lived and experienced in the Health and Nursing field, provided of epistemological rigor that demanded appropriation of concepts inherent to the existential analytics.

Objective:
To identify the pedagogical strategies and the elements that determine the construction of the educational workshop in healthcare at the teaching-service integration process.
Method:
Collective case study with qualitative approach. The cases consisted of two undergraduate courses in nursing. Thirty-one interviews were conducted with healthcare professionals, professors and students, in addition to participant observation in seven basic health units (UBS) that received the students interviewed.
Results:
The following analytical categories emerged: teaching-service integration: articulating idealized situations with real situations; pedagogical workshop in health: development of collective pedagogical actions; reflection on the experiences in the pedagogical workshop in health: articulating the knowledge of the work world with the teaching world.
Final Consideration:
Despite the integration difficulties between teaching and service, we can conclude that their encounter generates a fertile field for the development of the educational workshop in healthcare. To this end, the agreement of the strategies presented in the constitution of the workshop is necessary.

Objective:
to analyze the expressions of spirituality and religiosity of relatives of people who abuse or are dependent on psychoactive substances.
Methods:
exploratory-descriptive research that dialogues with the spirituality and religiosity conceptual framework. It was performed at an outpatient clinic specialized in drug treatment in southern Brazil. Semi-structured interviews conducted with 11 relatives of patients undergoing treatment were analyzed by content analysis.
Results:
the findings were grouped into two categories: forms of expression of spirituality and religiosity practices; and their influence on relatives’ lives. Spirituality and religiosity almost always serve as a protective factor against feelings of anguish, conflicts and loneliness.
Final considerations:
despite the important role of expressions of spirituality and religiosity for many relatives, not everyone seems to benefit from them. Health professionals should consider these expressions in the construction of comprehensive health care for relatives.

Objective:
to know the suffering and the strategies of defense of CAPS AD III workers, from the perspective of the Work Theater proposed by Dejours.
Method:
a descriptive qualitative research, of the case study type, with CAPS AD III workers, using as theoretical framework the Psychodynamics of Work.
Results:
CAPS AD III professionals identify that the suffering in the work arises from the frustration between the real and the prescribed one; by the hegemony of practices guided by the biomedical model; stigmatization and prejudice with users; and the limitations of the Health Care Network (Rede de Atenção à Saúde). As an individual defense strategy, the rationalization was defined, and as a collective strategy, the protection strategy.
Final considerations:
worker uses strategies of defenses to face suffering and give a new meaning to it, characterizing themselves as ways of apprehending, understanding and giving meaning and new looks to their work.
