Objective:
Describe the processes of translation to the Portuguese language and cultural adaptation of the Postpartum Learning Needs (PLN) to the Portuguese context.
Method:
Methodological study of an instrument that was constructed and validated in Jordan. Here are presented the procedures referring to linguistic, semantic and cultural validation, involving the stages of translation from English to European Portuguese, synthesis of translations, back-translation to the original language, expert committee, and pre-testing.
Results:
In the translation process, some vocabulary variations were solved through consensus among translators. The expert committee found that the version translated to Portuguese presented semantic, idiomatic, cultural and conceptual equivalence, while needing some adjustments. Pre-testing was applied to 45 adolescent mothers, of whom 86.6% considered the items comprehensible.
Conclusion:
Semantic, idiomatic, cultural and conceptual equivalences were conceptually satisfactory among questionnaire versions, which is relevant for the Portuguese culture and easily understandable. It is crucial to assess the psychometric properties of the questionnaire so its adapted version can be made available.

Objective:
To assess the health/functioning of the older adult who consumes psychoactive substances through the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, considering the theory of complexity.
Method:
Qualitative case study, with 11 older adults, held between December 2015 and February 2016 in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, using interviews, documents and non-systematic observation. It was approved by the ethics committee. The analysis followed the propositions of the case study, using the complexity of Morin as theoretical basis.
Results:
We identified older adults who consider themselves healthy and show alterations – the alterations can be exacerbated by the use of psychoactive substances – of health/functioning expected according to the natural course of aging such as: systemic arterial hypertension; depressive symptoms; dizziness; tinnitus; harmed sleep/rest; and inadequate food and water consumption.
Final consideration:
The assessment of health/functioning of older adults who use psychoactive substances, guided by complex thinking, exceeds the accuracy limits to risk the understanding of the phenomena in its complexity.

Objectives:
to understand the meanings of violence internalized throughout life by older adults living in rural areas.
Methods:
a qualitative study, anchored in the Symbolic Interactionism theoretical framework and the Grounded Theory methodological framework in the constructivist aspect. Data collection occurred through individual interviews. Data were coded using the Atlas.ti software.
Results:
it was possible to identify that the context of rural areas strengthens patriarchy culture as well as contributing to violence silence and naturalization. It was also found that violence is a product of social inequality and gender inequality.
Final Considerations:
older adults living in rural areas internalized the violence suffered in a unique way, and this scenario’s specific aspects can increase intra-family abuse, as there is a patriarchal culture that promotes social and gender inequality.

Objectives:
to characterize the sociodemographic and psychological aspects of university students who sought psychiatric care at a Student Support Center of a Federal University and to analyze associations between mental health issues and predisposing factors.
Methods:
a retrospective analysis of 103 medical records was conducted. The statistical analysis consisted of two steps: a descriptive analysis and a predictive analysis using the Logistic Regression Model.
Results:
the majority of the students were female. Symptoms of anxiety, depression, and insomnia were the main reasons for seeking care. Students who reported having emotional difficulties that negatively impacted their studies and those who had undergone some form of health treatment showed a higher probability of experiencing anxiety symptoms. Notable correlations were found between anxiety and emotional difficulties, depression and diarrhea, and insomnia and a sedentary lifestyle.
Conclusions:
symptoms of anxiety, depression, and insomnia led students to seek psychiatric care at the university. Understanding the predisposing factors for mental health issues in university students can inform care strategies and promote academic success.

Methods:
qualitative, historical, oral research, with interviews with the journal’s editors. Statements were categorized and presented in three decades, discussed from Foucault’s archaeological perspective.
Results:
seven statements presented three discourses. In the first decade, the discourse of knowledge registration and circulation presented statements of graduate studies and professional recognition. In the second decade, knowledge internationalization was added, with statements of business and editorial panopticism, selection criteria, indexing and digitalization. Finally, the discourse of shifting scientific assessment centrality was added with statements of preprint, open science, exclusive digitalization and mediatization of science.
Final Considerations:
the journal needed to adapt to form its official discourse, which made it possible, over the years, to change its initial peripheral position to a central one within scientific communication, supporting its panoptic role.

Objectives:
to identify the strategies found in the literature for increasing vaccination coverage among children in Brazil. It is justified mainly by the current scenario of falling vaccination coverage.
Methods:
systematic literature review. The search was carried out in the Pubmed (MEDLINE), Embase and Scopus databases, following the PRISMA guidelines.
Results:
initially, 4,824 results were returned. In the end, 6 studies were included for narrative synthesis using the SWiM methodology. Of these, 50% dealt with studies related to the Bolsa Família Program (PBF). The others explored strategies for approaching parents directly, Rapid Vaccination Monitoring (MRV) and the Community Health Agents Program (PACS). The PBF did not guarantee compliance with the conditionality of keeping vaccinations up to date. The MRV and PACS are effective strategies, especially because they allow active search for absentees.
Conclusions:
we conclude that more publications are needed on strategies to increase vaccination coverage among children in Brazil.

Objectives:
to analyze the relationship between the nursing practice environment and hospital sociotechnical complexity as perceived by nurses.
Methods:
a sequential explanatory mixed-methods study was conducted in a hospital in southern Brazil. The Brazilian version of the Practice Environment Scale-Nursing Work Index and the Complexity Characterization Questionnaire were administered to 132 nurses. Subsequently, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 18 participants, and the data were subjected to thematic analysis. Data integration was achieved through a connection approach.
Results:
the nursing practice environment was found to be favorable, except in the subscale concerning Staffing and Resource Adequacy, where complexity was present in the activities. The three emerging categories explained human and technical aspects related to complexity in the practice environment, quality of care, and patient safety. Unexpected variability was inversely correlated with the practice environment.
Conclusions:
the study results indicate a relationship between these constructs, with implications for the quality and the safety of care.
