Objective:
to analyze midwives’ employment situation of midwives and detect their workload measurement needs.
Methods:
a mixed methodology (quantitative and qualitative), observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study. Two phases were carried out. The first methodological phase consisted of conducting semi-structured individual interviews. The second methodological phase analyzed the Nursing Intervention Classification (NIC) interventions that midwives perform in the labor room during daily practice.
Results:
90.3% of midwives have work overload, since for 80.6% the midwife-pregnant mother ratio is not well established, since the mean execution time of a Nursing Intervention Classification (NIC) intervention is 20 minutes. For this reason, 100% of the sample considers the development of workload measurement tools to be highly useful.
Conclusions:
the need to generate an instrument that considers the diversity of Nursing Intervention Classification (NIC) interventions that develop within the labor room is ratified.

Objectives:
to analyze knowledge production adherence from a master’s course in nursing in the Amazon to care and health demands in the region, with an emphasis on neglected tropical diseases and traditional populations in the Amazon.
Methods:
a descriptive study, with a quantitative approach and documentary basis, analyzing dissertations defended in a Graduate Program in Nursing at the Universidade do Estado do Pará in association with the Universidade Federal do Amazonas, from 2012-2019. A descriptive statistical analysis was performed.
Results:
of the 105 dissertations analyzed, 30 (28.6%) were related to neglected tropical diseases. Of these, 11 (10.5%) dealt with Chagas disease, leishmaniasis, tuberculosis, malaria, and leprosy. Traditional populations in the Amazon participated in only 11 (10.5%) studies.
Conclusions:
knowledge production in a master’s course has adherence to care and health demands in the region; however, it needs to enhance its production to strengthen its identity.

Objectives:
to create and validate the content of a guide for monitoring the communication of the HIV diagnosis in childhood.
Methods:
methodological study, with a design guided by the Knowledge-to-Action (KTA) Framework, supported by a participatory approach. The guide’s content was structured according to the communication elements proposed by Lasswel from review studies.
Results:
the content was validated by 26 experts from nursing, medicine, psychology and pedagogy, using a Likert-type scale for relevance, clarity and precision. Data collection took place online and achieved a Content Validity Index of 0.94.
Conclusions:
the guide can contribute to the practice of professionals who care for children living with HIV, to support the family in communication and to the child’s right to know their diagnosis. For further research, it is recommended to create and validate the face of the technology in order to implement it.

Objectives:
to analyze the representations of healthcare provided to trans people living on the streets.
Methods:
ten women (three trans) and three cisgender men participated in this action research. Popular health education groups, focus groups, seminars and interviews were held, the data of which were organized in the software Nvivo®, submitted to content analysis and interpreted in the light of intersectionality theory.
Results:
healthcare was represented by the technical, relational, structural and citizenship dimensions. The relationship between gender and poverty determines the specific health needs of trans people living on the streets.
Final Considerations:
the need to expand conceptions and practices on healthcare to meet the specific health needs of trans people living on the streets was evidenced. Nursing, with competence and cultural sensitivity, can contribute to positive health outcomes and, consequently, break with the logic of exclusion, illness and poverty.

Objectives:
to evaluate the effect of educational video on newborn care to increase the knowledge of pregnant, postpartum, and family members.
Methods:
a quasi-experimental study, with pre-intervention and post-intervention evaluation with a single group. Fifty-eight pregnant, postpartum, and family members treated in basic health units and a hospital in Ceará, Brazil, participated. The study used the McNemar and binomial tests for the analysis.
Results:
after the intervention, there was an increase in the frequency of hits, from 70.82% to 92.97%. Most of the questions presented a significant increase of hits (p < 0.05) with an emphasis on sleeping position, drying of clothes, free demand for breastfeeding, and things to avoid (such as accessories in the sleeping place and talc in diaper change).
Conclusions:
the educational video was effective to participants in acquiring knowledge on the care of newborns and can assist in health education activities carried out by nurses.

Objectives:
to describe home care practices performed by family members for maintaining the life of children with gastrostomy.
Methods:
qualitative research using the Sensitive Creative method, with the Criatividade e Sensibilidade Corpo Saber [Corpo Saber Creativity and Sensitivity] dynamics. The participation included ten family caregivers of children with gastrostomy. The outpatient clinic of a federal hospital in Rio de Janeiro was the setting. Lexical analysis was used through the IRaMuTeQ® software.
Results:
Theme 1, entitled “The care for maintaining life performed by family members of children with gastrostomy at home”, was analyzed, comprising three classes: “The gastrostomy tube home care routine”; “The care with the gastrostomy/stoma”; and “Food and medication home care routine of children with gastrostomy”.
Final Considerations:
family caregivers used strategies to maintain the device and acquired new knowledge in this field, and in nursing competence, regarding stoma care, food administration, medication, and syringes.

Objectives:
to identify the use of religious/spiritual coping in informal caregivers of children with cleft lip and/or palate, dysphagic, powered exclusively by probe.
Methods:
descriptive and cross-sectional study, including 30 informal caregivers. For data collection, a Sociodemographic Questionnaire and the Brief Religious/Spiritual Coping Scale were used. For statistical analysis, ANOVA, Student’s t and Spearman’s correlation tests were used, with a significance level of 5%.
Results:
the use of religious/spiritual coping was high among participants (mean=3.71), with a predominance of positive (mean=3.30) compared to negative (mean=1.88). It was evident that the greater the reported importance of religiosity/spirituality in the participants’ lives, the greater the positive coping (p=0.001).
Conclusions:
informal caregivers used positive religious/spiritual coping as a way of coping with care demands related to the child’s health condition. These findings point to the importance of including spirituality/religiosity as health indicators.

Objective:
To investigate and analyze in the scientific literature coping strategies for domestic violence against pregnant female adolescents.
Method:
This is an integrative literature review, conducted from July to August 2017 on LILACS, SciELO and PubMed, using the descriptors and the MeSH terms: confrontation, violence, adolescent, pregnant women, prenatal care.
Result:
The sample comprised 9 articles that were organized and characterized according to year, country of study and coping strategy used. The main forms of coping involved the active search for cases and the primary care approach with all family members.
Conclusion:
Individualized prenatal care, the change in professional training and networking activities were pointed out as important components of the strategies for coping with violence against pregnant adolescents.

Objective:
To know the repercussions of the fall reported by the elderly and their caregiver during hospitalization in a public hospital in Florianópolis city from October to December 2014.
Method:
Exploratory research with a qualitative approach, conducted by depth interviews with 16 participants, the eight elderly were hospitalized for falls and eight elderly caregivers. Data analysis were performed through the Thematic Content Analysis.
Results:
It was evidenced the thematic axis: Faller Elderly supported by four thematic categories: Changes caused by Falls, I am a faller, I take care of me and Prevention of the Fall. The repercussions of the fall were evidenced in the impairment of the health condition, self-care and functional capacity. We observed the naturalization of the phenomenon and the passivity with the harmful consequences of the event.
Final Considerations:
The fall is valued the more negative its repercussion, such as the need for hospitalization and surgery. Managing the vulnerability of the elderly, especially in primary care, evaluating their comorbidities and their internal and external environment, will minimize unfavorable consequences and the social and financial cost of hospitalizations.

Objective:
To understand the meaning of being institutionalized and in conflict with the law for the institutionalized adolescent.
Method:
A qualitative, phenomenological-comprehensive study carried out in a Socio-educational Service Foundation in the northern region of Brazil, with 05 institutionalized adolescents. The analysis was carried out under the understanding of the content suggested by Heidgger, thus allowing the construction of analytical categories for a hermeneutical interpretation.
Results:
Conflicting with the law means something negative and bad for the institutionalized adolescents, in which they understand that although there is deprivation of liberty, the period of hospitalization is an important moment for the reflection on the need to start over.
Conclusion:
The meaning of conflicting with the law goes far beyond a simple word, act or behaviour, it is something that only those who experience the phenomenon are able to unveil, arouse deep feelings and provide reflection to the adolescent about the damages caused by the infraction.

Objective:
To describe the profile of women in relation to their living conditions, health status and socio-demographic profile, correlating it with the presence of signs and symptoms suggestive of post-cesarean surgical site infection, identifying information to be considered in the puerperium consultation performed by nurses and proposing a roadmap for the systematization of care.
Method:
Quantitative, exploratory, descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective review of medical records of women who had cesarean deliveries in 2014, in the city of São Paulo.
Results:
89 medical records were analyzed, 62 of them with incomplete information. In 11, there was at least one of the signs and symptoms suggestive of infection.
Conclusion:
Given the results of the study, the systematization of puerperal consultation is essential. The roadmap is an instrument that can potentially improve the quality of service and the recording of information.

Objective:
to analyze the contribution of the laboratory of nursing to the critical education of nurses.
Method:
qualitative study, conducted among 18 professors of higher education institutions, being one public and the other private. Data were collected between February and November of 2016 by means of semi-structured interview. To analyze data, it was used a content analysis in the thematic modality.
Results:
it was observed the emphasis in the technical skills development by propagation of behavior and practices; the creation of bonds between professors and students happens on the limit of good interpersonal relationship; the laboratory of nursing may help the critical reflection about the practice, being a place that allows the learning of ethics.
Final considerations:
the nurse education, carried out by the laboratory of nursing, have to overcome the emphasis in the uncritical reproduction of practices and to observe the nurse’s power to think about the reality in the meaning of its modification.

Objective:
to understand the introduction of the School Health Program in the city of Cascavel, Paraná State, as opposed to the report of nurses.
Method:
a qualitative study with fifteen participants. The data were collected from April to August 2015, through semi-structured interviews, analyzed by content analysis and thematic modality.
Results:
the category “Introduction process” of the School Health Program integrates the subcategories “Identified health problems” and the “Challenges of intersectoriality”. The program was implemented quickly, with a fragile training of professionals to perform in the phases that compose it. Structural conditions of schools, human and material resources, and emerging intersectoral interaction were identified obstacles. The integration of the health, school, and family constitutes the program’s potentiality.
Final considerations:
it is understood that the actions of the program were based on health assessments of students, and it is necessary for professionals and managers to discuss and analyze the obstacles identified to achieve all the proposed objectives.

Objective:
To elaborate and validate a tool to assess knowledge and behavior of nursing professionals about standards and specific precautions in the Primary Health Care.
Method:
Methodological study of the elaboration and validation of the tool by thirteen experts judges, using a Likert scale of 4 points, with Content Validity Index ≥ 0.80, on clarity, relevance and pertinence.
Results:
A tool composed of 47 dichotomous questions to assess knowledge and 12 questions, with five options of answers, for the referred behavior. In the validation, only one item was deleted, related to the “Hands Hygiene” axis and one item was reformulated, regarding “Use of Common Gloves” and another 11 changed writing. The tool as a whole was assessed for relevance, comprehensiveness and representativeness within the scope of the topic investigated.
Conclusion:
The developed tool has been validated and is now available for use in Primary Health Care.

Objective:
seize meanings attributed by primary care nurses to training in diabetes education.
Method:
exploratory and descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, with twenty primary care nurses; semistructured interview script, with interviews processed in the IRaMuTeQ software and analyzed through the Descending Hierarchical Classification. The results were subsidized in the Representational Theory of Meaning.
Results:
nurse training in diabetes education is insufficient for holistic action, although it allows the community to be instrumentalized in specific issues about the disease, using the limited tools available, especially lectures. Nurses find themselves in a context of challenges, improvisations, weaknesses, and limitations that determine the meaning attributed to diabetes education and subsequent actions.
Conclusion:
the meanings attributed by the nurses revealed an incipient training, which limits the quality of care provided and instigates the search for qualification.

Objective:
to identify prevalence and factors associated with anxiety and depression in nursing professionals who work to cope with COVID-19 at a university hospital.
Methods:
a cross-sectional observational study using a sociodemographic questionnaire and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, with 88 nursing professionals. Data were analyzed using absolute and relative frequency and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences.
Results:
there was prevalence of anxiety (48.9%) and depression (25%). The majority of the sample consisted of women over 40 years old, married or in a common-law marriage, white, with higher education or graduate degree, with an income above 3,000.00 reais, public servants, working 40 hours a week and working in the hospital from 1 to 5 years.
Conclusion:
we must consider the impact on mental health nursing caused by COVID-19 and intervene with coping strategies to minimize the suffering of professionals.

Final considerations:
The Atlas.ti software assists in the accomplishment of the thematic content analysis being this promising association in health research.

Objective:
To discuss the challenges and perspectives of nursing education in times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods:
Reflection study, with theoretical approach based on national and international publications, allied to the experience of researchers in the area of nursing education.
Results:
Four sections are identified: Nursing education: current affairs and perspectives; Education and technologies in time of pandemic: acceleration, alteration and paralysis; Difference between emergency, intentional and remote teaching; the return to the “new normality”: new structuring axes and legal norms.
Final considerations:
The conclusion is that longstanding challenges have emerged with the pandemic, and the processes of acceleration, change and paralysis have marked education in these times. Moreover, epidemiological, technological and psychological aspects should be more valued in the return to activities.

Objective:
To analyze the influence of socioeconomic, demographic, epidemiological factors, and the health system structure in the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil.
Methods:
Ecological study with variables extracted from databases, having the incidence and mortality by COVID-19 until August 23, 2020, in Brazilian states, as response variables. The magnitude of the associations was estimated using Spearman’s correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis.
Results:
In the Brazilian states, 59.8% of variation in the incidence of COVID-19 was justified by income inequality, significant home densification, and higher mortality. In the case of mortality, those same variables explained 57.9% of the country’s variations in federal units.
Conclusion:
Our results indicate that socioeconomic factors influenced the evolution and impact of COVID-19 in Brazil. Thus, we suggest comprehensive actions to ensure economic conditions and strengthening of health networks for populations with socioeconomic vulnerability.

Objective:
To analyze the applicability of the Braden Scale to individuals admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with the nursing diagnosis Impaired Physical Mobility, in its prediction potential to develop pressure ulcer (PU).
Methods:
A cross-sectional, quantitative study that evaluated all patients hospitalized in an ICU between November 2016 and February 2017, with the Braden Scale.
Results:
The prevalence of PU was 35.8% (24/67), in male individuals 58.3% (14/24), diagnosed with ischemic CVA 51.9% (12/27), and with hemorrhagic CVA 7.4% (2/27). Among patients classified at severe risk of developing pressure ulcer, 83.3% (20/53) developed it, and 76.7% (33/53) did not develop it.
Conclusion:
The performance of the Braden Scale showed a balance between sensitivity and specificity, confirming it as a better predictive risk assessment instrument in this group of patients.

Objectives:
to analyze the prevalence of symptoms and their relationship with the quality of life of cancer patients.
Methods:
this is a cross-sectional study with 107 patients evaluated using a sociodemographic instrument, the hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS) and the quality of life scale (EORTC-QLQ-C30). Pearson’s correlation test was used to evaluate the relationship between symptoms and quality of life.
Results:
prevalence of female patients (56.1%), 55 years as the mean age and 10 years of schooling. Fatigue (76.6%), insomnia (47.7%), pain (42.1%), loss of appetite (37.4%), anxiety (31.8%) and depression (21.5%) were identified. Anxiety and depression symptoms presented a negative correlation with quality of life and positive correlation with physical symptoms.
Conclusions:
fatigue, insomnia, pain and loss of appetite were the most common and most intense symptoms. Anxiety and depression symptoms presented a negative correlation with quality of life and positive correlation with physical symptoms.

Objective:
to describe the validation of the booklet on self-care with the feet of people with diabetes.
Method:
methodological study, focusing on the validation of a printed booklet. The content and appearance of the booklet was validated by 23 judges divided into three groups: 11 content and appearance, seven technicians and five of the area of design and marketing. The appearance was validated by 30 people with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
Results:
the judges in the nursing area allowed the validation of material with a Content Validity Index (CVI) of 0.99, judges in the area of design and marketing with Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM) of 99.2% and the target audience with concordance index of 99.4%.
Conclusion:
the educational booklet proved to be valid and reliable educational material to be used in order to promote compliance with self-care with the feet of people with Diabetes Mellitus.

Objectives:
to analyze the scientific evidence on the strategies of active learning methodologies used in the training of nurses, as well as their contributions and obstacles in training.
Methods:
integrative literature review conducted with 33 selected articles in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Nursing Database, Scopus, Web of Science and Education Resources Information Center databases.
Results:
among the strategies, simulation, problem-based learning and flipped classroom were highlighted. The active search, the integration of theory and practice and group work were examples of contributions to the training of nurses. However, the lack of preparation of the actors and the lack of structural support contribute to the dissatisfaction of the students.
Final Considerations:
the active learning methodology places the student at the heart of the learning process, favors critical thinking and the ability to make decisions.
