Objetivo:
elucidar destaques filosóficos e epistemológicos mediante considerações significativas, essenciais, em favor da causalidade de questões no interesse da Enfermagem.
Método:
abordagem fundamentada nas proposições teóricas de Johannes Hessen, com referência a outros autores expertos no tema.
Resultados:
esclarecimento de aspectos substantivos e implicações adjetivas não só no interesse da investigação, ressaltando os significados essenciais do assunto, condizente com as elaborações de dissertações de mestrado e teses de doutorado de Enfermagem.
Conclusão:
trata-se de uma contribuição valiosa para esclarecer melhor detalhes da construção do conhecimento na temática e problemática do assunto posto em causa, as linhas de pesquisa em enfermagem.

Método:

clareamiento de aspectos sustantivo e implicaciones adjetivas no sólo el interés de la investigación, resaltando los significados esenciales del asunto coincidido con las elaboraciones de disertaciones y tesis (Maestría y Doctorado de Enfermería).
Conclusión:
texto representa una contribución valiosa para esclarecer mejor detalles de la construcción del conocimiento en la temática y problemática del asunto puesto en causa.

Objective:
to synthesize the scientific literature about the Theory of Meaningful Learning in the process of teaching and learning in nursing.
Method:
this is an integrative review conducted in the databases MEDLINE, LILACS, SciELO, BDENF and CINAHL with studies addressing the subject or aspects of the theory of meaningful learning of David Ausubel. Ten studies were included, from which six were written in Portuguese and four in English, published from 1998 to 2013.
Results:
five studies used the theory of meaningful learning, four studies cited Ausubel as the author of this theory and only two studies followed the framework for the application of the theory completely. There are only a few studies on this subject and those which explore it are not correlated with Ausubel’s theory.
Conclusion:
it is necessary to break with the dichotomy between theory and practice and promote the articulation of content with action, introducing the student as the author of their own knowledge.

Objective:
to characterize the scientific production of Postgraduate Programs Nursing in Brazil on health promotion with a focus on elderly people with chronic conditions in the period from 2006 to 2010.
Method:
integrative research developed by searching for dissertations and theses in the database of the Center for Nursing Studies and Research of the Brazilian Nursing Association published in the period from 2006 to 2010 and which focused on health promotion for elderly people with chronic conditions.
Results:
five themes emerged: “Living with the disease”; “Technologies of care”, “Potential for self-care” “Psycho-spiritual dimension”, and “Family caregiver”.
Conclusion:
it was possible to identify nursing care as a key element to promote the health of elderly people and make them more independent in their care so as to live with their limitations or disabilities, even when affected by chronic diseases.

Objective:
to interpret life histories of the oldest-old in a community, grounded on the perspective of the Active Aging and Life Course.
Method:
this is a qualitative research. Participants included twenty seniors 80 years and older, users of a Basic Health Unit. Life histories were collected and analyzed according to the proposition of the Autobiographical Narrative Interview.
Results:
during the analytic process, elements found in the elders’ present and past arose, contributing to the development of a theoretical model: “Building longevity along the life course.”
Conclusion:
longevity is rooted in the past, strongly infl uenced by the family culture and life course; assumptions of the Active Aging are more meaningful in the informants’ present trajectory. The content of the narratives pointed to new possibilities of Gerontology Nursing intervention in Primary Care, aiming at health promotion and intervention, specially grounded on the respect to the oldest-elders’ culture.

Objective:
to determine the accuracy of nursing diagnoses of fatigue, intolerance to activity and decreased cardiac output in hospitalized HF patients.
Method:
descriptive study applied to nurses with experience in NANDA-I and/or HF nursing diagnoses. Evaluation and accuracy were determined by calculating effi cacy (E), false negative (FN), false positive (FP) and trend (T) measures. Nurses who showed acceptable inspection for two diagnoses were selected.
Results:
the nursing diagnosis of fatigue was the most commonly mistaken diagnosis identifi ed by the nursing evaluators.
Discussion:
the search for improving diagnostic accuracy reaffi rms the need for continuous and specifi c training to improve the diagnosis capability of nurses.
Conclusion:
the training allowed the exercise of clinical judgment and better accuracy of nurses.

Objective:
identify the average direct cost (ADC) of the activities performed by nursing professionals in the nursing process development and documentation at the medical clinic of a teaching hospital.
Method:
1040 activities were observed and the ADC was calculated by multiplying the time spent by professionals by the unit cost of direct labor.
Results:
the ADC of patient admission was R$ 55.57 (SD=19.44); among the activities of patient follow-up, the assessment phase documentation had the most significant ADC (R$ 17.70 – SD=14.60); the ADC of descriptive records corresponded to R$ 1.21 (SD=1.21) and the ADC of the nursing team for shift change was R$ 54.23 (SD=28.95).
Conclusion:
the study promotes visibility of the work performed by nursing professionals in the development of the nursing process, providing financial data to ensure consistent arguments for proper resources to its feasibility.

Objective:
to assess the association between perceived health status and the mental health of patients submitted to percutaneous coronary intervention after hospital discharge.
Method:
a quantitative and cross-sectional study involving 101 participants. The following instruments were used: a sociodemographic and clinical characterization instrument, the Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36), and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Participants were divided into three groups: no anxiety and no depression (G1); anxiety or depression (G2); and both (G3). The ANOVA test was used for the intergroup comparison of means on the SF-36 domains.
Results:
There was an association between perceived health status and mental health. The participants in G1 presented higher scores in all SF-36 domains in comparison with participants in G2 and G3.
Conclusion:
Participants with no anxiety and depression presented better-perceived health status in comparison with those with anxiety or depression, or both.

Objective:
to build and to describe an Individual Skills Matrix for nurses working in surgical units and their associated behaviors / attitudes.
Method:
Exploratory, qualitative study. 43 nurses from five surgical units participated, and data collection was carried out between April and September 2017. The focus group technique was used and for data interpretation an inductive thematic analysis was performed. The competence matrix was built from the testimonies of the participants plus a search in the literature for concepts directed to each competence and description of the expected behaviors and / or attitudes.
Results:
For the Matrix, the following individual skills were identified: Planning; Communication, Relational Competence, Leadership, Decision Making and Ethics.
Final Considerations:
The construction of a Matrix should assist managers in recognizing the professional profile and assessing their performance, strengthening the achievement of professional and organizational objectives, as well as contributing to the quality and effectiveness of the care provided by nurses in these places.

Objective:
To identify in the scientific literature the feelings of women living with HIV in relation to reproduction and motherhood, as well as the care provided by health professionals regarding reproductive health as a right.
Method:
Integrative review carried out in 2017, in the databases LILACS, PUBMED, BDENF and SciELO Virtual Library. We analyzed 30 articles.
Results:
As feelings, the motivation for reproduction and self-care, fears, uncertainties and hopes were evidenced. As care, services that support reproductive decisions were evidenced, but, predominantly, the disregard for the desire and care incipience for reproductive planning.
Conclusion:
There is no comprehensive and humanized work on the reproductive issues of these women, either through the neglect of the desire and viability of gestation or by the incipient care to the ambivalent emotional experiences. There is a need to qualify the care model in order to configure it, in fact, as care, aiming at guaranteeing reproductive rights.

Objective:
to analyze YouTube videos with information about COVID-19 in Brazilian sign language.
Methods:
a cross-sectional study conducted with 402 videos from the YouTube sharing platform. Chi-square, Fisher’s exact, Mann-Whitney and Spearman’s correlation tests were used.
Results:
the videos mainly covered COVID-19 prevention (20.6%). There was a positive correlation between video length and number of views (p<0.001). The length of more than 20 minutes was associated with narration only in BSL (p=0.37) and in BSL with audio (p<0.001), while videos with less than 20 minutes were associated with simultaneous narration in BSL, audio and subtitles. Those with narration only in BSL had a similar number of views to those narrated with subtitles and/or audio (p=0.998).
Conclusion:
the videos were mostly short and included COVID-19 prevention. The longer the video, the greater the number of views. Regardless the presentation of narrations, the videos had a similar number of views.

Objectives:
to create and validate the content of a guide for monitoring the communication of the HIV diagnosis in childhood.
Methods:
methodological study, with a design guided by the Knowledge-to-Action (KTA) Framework, supported by a participatory approach. The guide’s content was structured according to the communication elements proposed by Lasswel from review studies.
Results:
the content was validated by 26 experts from nursing, medicine, psychology and pedagogy, using a Likert-type scale for relevance, clarity and precision. Data collection took place online and achieved a Content Validity Index of 0.94.
Conclusions:
the guide can contribute to the practice of professionals who care for children living with HIV, to support the family in communication and to the child’s right to know their diagnosis. For further research, it is recommended to create and validate the face of the technology in order to implement it.

Objectives:
to develop, validate with specialists and internationally certify a virtual health portal, the D+Informação.
Methods:
a quantitative methodological study. Twenty-two expert judges validated the Portal in the health and computer science areas using the Content Validity Index and the Gwet test. International certification followed HONcode principles® to ensure the trust of information.
Results:
judges of health and computer science validated the portal obtaining a minimum Content Validity Index in more than 75% of the topics, in addition to the evaluation of general agreement, 0.253; content evaluation, 0.193, and interface evaluation, 0.230. All presented the value of Gwet with p ≤ 0,001.
Conclusions:
the portal D+Informação was developed, validated, internationally certified and is hosted on this website:

Objectives:
to analyze quality of sleep among students of technical courses in nursing according to the exercise of work activity.
Methods:
a cross-sectional and analytical research, with 213 students from Paraná. Characterization data and the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index were collected between March and June 2020 and analyzed descriptively and inferentially.
Results:
quality of poor sleep was 76.5% among those who work and 75.3% among those who do not work. Difficulty in reconciling personal and academic life (p=0.016;adjOR:3.450) and indicating anxiety due to school activities (p=0.017;adjOR:3.236) increased the chances of poor sleep quality among working students. Satisfaction with health reduced the chances of poor sleep quality, regardless of exercising work activity (p=0.002;adjOR:0.210) or not (p=0.008;adjOR:0.215).
Conclusions:
students who performed work activities have worse sleep quality due to anxiety and the multiple activities to be reconciled with the study.

Objective:
assess the knowledge of sex workers about HIV/AIDS and its influence on sexual practices.
Method:
Ninety women participated in the study. The Scientific Knowledge Test about HIV/AIDS and sexual practices was used. The Wald test was applied to verify the relationship between knowledge and sexual practices with statistical significance of p<0.05.
Results:
the score of 61.7% of correct answers in all three dimensions stands out; 72.2% have sexual intercourse without a condom in exchange for a large amount of money; 53.3% have sex during the menstrual period; 62.2% have sexual intercourse with drug users; 75.6% have sex with clients showing lesions on the penis or anus. The B coefficient (-0.19) showed that the higher the knowledge about HIV/AIDS, the lower the practice of risky sexual behaviors.
Conclusion:
the influence of knowledge about HIV/AIDS on sexual practices was not statistically significant, but the sexual practices and insufficient knowledge about prevention, physiological and behavioral attributes were observed.

Objectives:
to investigate studies that adopted the multilevel analysis model to identify behavioral and structural risk factors associated with HIV infection.
Methods:
an integrative review of the literature with studies available in full, obtained from EMBASE, CINAHL, Pubmed, and Scopus, whose selected descriptors were the indexed terms: “HIV”, “multilevel analysis” and “behavior”.
Results:
the search resulted in 236 studies. Out of these, ten studies comprised the sample. Economic disadvantage, neighborhood characteristics, housing instability, incarceration, transactional sex, multiple partners, substance abuse, and age at first intercourse were classified as structural and behavioral risk factors for HIV. Reduced socioeconomic disadvantage, provision of housing stability, and condom use were associated with protective factors for HIV exposure.
Conclusions:
by applying the multilevel model in risk factor research studies, it was possible to identify the structural and behavioral elements of HIV risk.
