Objective:
To identify in the literature and summarize the elements and characteristics of fatherhood involved during pregnancy.
Method:
Scoping review that used PRISMA-ScR guide to report this review. Searches were carried out in PubMed, CINAHL, PsycInfo, LILACS and Scopus. Google search engines and public health agency websites assisted in searches of gray literature and Rayyan in screening studies.
Results:
A total of 406 articles were identified, of which 16 made up the final sample. Five elements make up an involved fatherhood: feeling like a father, being a provider and protector, being a partner and participant in pregnancy, participating in prenatal appointments and feeling prepared to take care of a baby.
Conclusion:
Fathers want to be involved in prenatal care, but feel excluded from this process. Public policies that encourage paternal involvement and healthcare professional training to better welcome and promote paternal involvement are of paramount importance.

Objectives:
To evaluate the internal consistency and construct validity of the QLQ-MY20 for assessing the quality of life in multiple myeloma survivors in Chile.
Methods:
This was a cross-sectional study conducted between March 2020 and December 2022. It involved 118 individuals from two public hospitals. The QLQ-C30 and QLQ-MY20 questionnaires were used. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha(α), and construct validity was evaluated through hypothesis testing (Mann-Whitney and Spearman correlation).
Results:
The average age of participants was 67.2 years (SD=9.2). Internal consistency for the complete scale was α=0.779, for the “disease symptoms” dimension α=0.671, for the “side effects of treatments” dimension α=0.538, and for the “future perspective” dimension α=0.670. Four of the five construct validity hypotheses were confirmed: women, individuals with worse performance status, those with pain, and those with worse fatigue showed more symptoms.
Conclusions:
The Chilean version of the QLQ-MY20 demonstrates adequate internal consistency and construct validity.

Objective:
to learn the meanings attributed to pregnancy loss by women with Lupus.
Method:
qualitative research, based on Symbolic Interactionism and Grounded Theory. Data collection took place between January and August 2022 through in-depth interviews. Data analysis went through the stages of initial and focused coding.
Results:
seventeen women participated. The central phenomenon “The climb to motherhood: falls and overcoming” was constructed, consisting of three categories: “Falling to the ground during the climb: the experience of pregnancy loss”; “Getting up and following the path: new attempts to conceive”; and “Remembering the journey: meanings attributed to pregnancy losses”.
Final considerations:
experiencing pregnancy is, analogously, like climbing a mountain, where obstacles need to be overcome to reach the summit. The experience of pregnancy loss is seen as complex, especially when there is fragility in healthcare and a lack of awareness regarding feelings of loss and grief.

Objectives:
to assess factors associated with vulnerability and fragility in the elderly.
Methods:
crosssectional study with 384 elderly people in Fortaleza, Ceará. The Vulnerable Elders Survey and Clinical-Functional Vulnerability Index – 20 were used. Chi-square and Fisher’s exact tests were used for associations. In the analysis of the combined influence of risk factors, the stepwise logistic regression and multinomial regression methods were adopted.
Results:
251 (65.4%) non-vulnerable and 133 (34.6%) vulnerable elders. From the vulnerable elders analyzed, 42 (30.9%) are at high risk for frailty. Factors associated with vulnerability: age, gender, presence of comorbidities, hypertension, diabetes, osteoporosis and use of polypharmacy. There is a 30% increase in the chance of vulnerability for each additional drug. Physical activity reduces the chance of vulnerability by 60%. Factors associated with frailty: educational level; self-perception of health; comorbidities; polypharmacy.
Conclusions:
it is important to pay attention to the presence of arterial hypertension, osteoporosis, polypharmacy, and encourage the practice of physical activity.

Objective:
To analyze caregivers’ knowledge about prevention of domestic accidents in early childhood and its association with education level.
Methods:
This is a cross-sectional study conducted in a Primary Care Unit in Niterói with caregivers (convenience sample) of children under 6 years old. To classify the knowledge, we adopted the Positivity Index; to verify the association between the variable “schooling” and knowledge, the chi square test was used; statistically significant results: p < 0.05.
Results:
A total of 256 caregivers participated; 93.5% showed adequate knowledge. In the individual items, the knowledge (100%) about prevention of accidents with sharp toys, firearms, intoxication by products stood out; and less frequently (64.5%), the knowledge of the information contained in the Child’s Health Booklet. There was no statistically significant association (p = 0.237) between education and knowledge. Conclusion: The caregivers presented knowledge about the prevention of domestic accidents, and this was not associated with the level of education.

Objectives:
to describe health care practices aimed at lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transvestites, and transsexuals.
Methods:
an integrative literature review based on systematic steps, in MEDLINE, LILACS AND SciELO databases and/or electronic libraries. It was held from September to November 2018, with articles published between 2012 and 2017, available in full in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, addressing health care to that population group.
Results:
fourteen articles were included. Most of the articles were about the trajectory of individuals within health services and showed limitations and obstacles in the use of these services.
Final Considerations:
there is evidence that factors related to organization of services, attitude of professionals, stigma, and discrimination experienced undermine health care practices. Therefore, it is essential to carry out educational activities in health services and educational institutions.

Objectives:
to understand high school students’ perception about the nurse’s image and role in society, from nursing knowledge patterns.
Methods:
phenomenographic qualitative study, developed between October 2017 and January 2018, in a public university in the countryside of the state of São Paulo, with eight Interdisciplinary Higher Education Program (Programa de Formação Interdisciplinar Superior) students. The findings were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed by the phenomenography framework, supported by rereading nursing knowledge patterns.
Results:
two categories emerged: Perception of nurses’ image, which contemplates their positive and negative characteristics, attributes and place where they operate; and Nurses’ role in society, in which their work is compared with physicians’.
Final Considerations:
despite their essential role in care, subordination to medical knowledge and lack of knowledge of nurses’ functions still reflect their image.
