Objective:
to analyze the perceptions of nursing undergraduate students on their self-aging process.
Method:
qualitative study carried out between August and September, 2011 with 18 nursing undergraduate students of a public university in Salvador, Bahia. The interviews were analyzed by means of the Content Analysis method.
Results:
the following thematic concept was apprehended: Perceptions of nursing undergraduates on their self-aging, which generated two subcategories: A) The “don’t think about it” process; B) The context infl uencing the process.
Conclusion:
undergraduates reveal that the aging process is an intrinsic factor to human development. Family ties, spirituality and physical activity would be key mechanisms toward active aging. However, students also reported that their accelerated and stressed social lifestyles led to inadequate habits, such as the consumption of fast food and alcohol, which become negative infl uences in their aging process.

Objective:
to analyze the discourses about the care provided by nurses operating in Specialized HIV/Aids Outpatient Services in four public institutions of the city of Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil.
Method:
descriptive and exploratory study with a qualitative approach, which used as a method the discourse analysis.
Results:
when titling the “care as negative”, such title came from the analogy proposed by Freud (1912) with the photographic negative, represented by what that care can configure from the unconscious movement, since nurses did not perceive themselves in the care actions developed by supporting the work of other occupational categories, contributing to maintain the ideology of biomedicine.
Conclusion:
it is necessary to justify and theorize a nursing clinical practice from epistemological issues of the profession, in such a way that nurses can understand their relevance within the care provided.

Objectives:
to analyze the practices of a home care team and their implications for caregivers’ performance.
Methods:
qualitative study with data obtained from observation of 21 users, 30 caregivers and 6 professionals from the home health care service in a municipality in Minas Gerais, from February to June 2018. The material was analyzed from the perspective of discourse analysis according to Michel Foucault.
Results:
team interference upon caregivers is exercised by disciplinary practices and prescriptive, authoritative and surveilling behaviors. The team’s knowledge-power relationship determines caregivers’ acceptance through convincing or through difficulty of understanding assigned orientations. Educational practices would enable caregivers to be constituted as active, participative, empowered and reflective subjects.
Final Considerations:
team practices interfere with caregivers’ ways of acting and being and they have implications in objectification and subjectification processes.

Objective:
to analyze the trend of hospitalizations of adolescents due to mental and behavioral disorders in Paraná, from 1998 to 2015.
Method:
ecological study of time series. Data were analyzed by means of segmented linear regression modeling for time series, estimated for each of the four health macro-regions.
Results:
the East macro-region showed a greater trend to increase hospitalizations from January 1998 to November 2003 (β1=0.006, p<0.001). In other macro-regions, there were similar trends with a sudden increase in February 2010, but with a further gradual decrease until December 2015. In the quadrennium 2012-2015, 38.06% of the hospitalizations lasted 29 or more days, and in the Northwest macro-region, hospitalizations lasted for up to seven days. The main cause of hospitalization was the use of alcohol and other drugs.
Conclusion:
there is a need to strengthen health actions to prevent drug use and improvements in the care network.

Objective:
to analyze the accuracy of clinical indicators of “Ineffective health management” in celiac patients and to verify associations between sociodemographic characteristics and clinical indicators.
Method:
a cross-sectional study, conducted from May to September 2017, with 83 celiac patients, through an interview. Accuracy measures were defined by latent class model.
Results:
there was a prevalence of “Ineffective health management” of 55.69%. “Failure to take action to reduce risk factor” and “Failure to include treatment regimen in daily living” better predict this diagnosis. Paid occupation reduces the chance of the presence of “Difficulty with prescribed regimen”. Participation in support association reduces the chance of the presence of “Difficulty with prescribed regimen”, “Ineffective choices in daily living for meeting health goal” and “Failure to take action to reduce risk factor”.
Conclusion:
accurate clinical indicators identification assists clinical reasoning for diagnostic inference in specific health contexts.
