Objective:
Identifi cation of terminology relating to nursing practices aimed at children and adolescents at risk of domestic violence.
Methods:
bibliographic descriptive research which selected 40 articles from the Virtual Health Library on domestic violence against children and adolescents, its manifestations, causes, and consequences, in association with nursing procedures for its confrontation and prevention, and which also identifi ed terminology via computer tools.
Results:
17,365 terms that, after standardization and uniformity procedures, resulted in a listing of 915 terms.
Conclusion:
The terminology selected focused on the individual biopsychic nexus and the historic manifestation of this phenomenon was partially identifi ed in terms that appear less frequently in these articles, thereby explaining the contradiction between the formal identifi cation logic of such terminology and the dialectic logic that recognizes the historic reasons for, and dynamicity of, such phenomena.

Objectives:
to determine which component items of hospital bills, examined by nurse auditors, were adjusted the most during pre-analysis; to identify the impact upon revenue caused by the adjustments to bills analyzed by physician and nurse auditors; and to identify disallowances related to items checked by the audit team.
Method:
quantitative, exploratory, descriptive, singlecase study.
Results:
after analysis of 2,613 bills, it was found that the item most included by nurses was gas (90.5%) and the most excluded was inpatient drugs (41.2%). Hemodynamics materials, gases and equipment had the greatest impact on upward adjustments. Downward adjustments were the result of improper entries on bills and did not generate revenue losses. Of total disallowances, 52.24% were related to the pre-analysis of nurses and 47.76% to that of physicians.
Conclusion:
this study of the pre-analysis process provides input that enhances knowledge about hospital bill audits.

Objectives:
to analyze the risks of deaths in the first 24 hours of life and their preventable causes.
Methods:
cross-sectional study carried out in Pernambuco, Northeast of Brazil, between 2000-2019, with mortality and live birth data. The avoidability was analyzed through the Brazilian List of Avoidable Causes of Deaths due to Interventions of the Unified Health System. For the statistical analyses, Pearson’s chi-squared test and relative and attributable risks were used.
Results:
13,601 deaths were registered, of which 10,497 (77.19%) were from preventable causes. Of the total, 5,513 (40.53%) were reducible through adequate care for women during pregnancy. The lower the gestational age, birth weight and education level, the higher the relative and attributable risk of death in the first 24 hours of life.
Conclusions:
most of the deaths were considered avoidable and with high relative and attributable risks. These early deaths suggest care failures and the need to reinforce prevention and treatment measures.

to describe the training profile of Brazilian intensive care nurses.
Methods:
a cross-sectional study carried out in two stages: a structured, self-administered questionnaire; mapping of the national supply of lato sensu postgraduate courses. Data was collected on the sociodemographic profile, training process and characterization of the courses.
Results:
in the first stage, 202 respondents were obtained. The majority were women (79.2%), aged between 26 and 45 (80.7%), graduated less than 5 years ago (44%), through lato sensu postgraduate courses (55.5%), which were marked by the absence of laboratory practice (57.5%) and guided tours (42.5%). In the second stage, 457 courses were identified, with face-to-face teaching (58.9%), a workload of 360 to 420 hours (51.2%), a duration of up to 6 months (41.8%) and variation in the sub-area of training.
Conclusions:
there was a predominance of professionals graduating from lato sensu post-graduate courses, with essentially theoretical teaching and heterogeneity in terms of modality, workload and sub-area of training.
