Objectives:
to identify scientific evidence regarding the use of Lean Healthcare approach in the hospitalization and patient discharge process.
Methods:
this is an Integrative Review conducted in the PubMed, LILACS, SCOPUS, CINAHL, Web of Science, and Embase databases.
Results:
out of 904 records identified, three were included in this review. The studies demonstrated that when applied to discharge planning, the Lean philosophy brings favorable results, promoting improvements in the communication process, as well as assisting in workflow organization, with a reduction in length of stay and improvement in the quality of care.
Final Considerations:
although the Lean methodology presents positive results, it is considered that the application of the philosophy in healthcare institutions is still not sustainable, as it is often restricted to specific departments or services. Thus, to maximize the success of implementation, the Lean philosophy needs to be incorporated into the organizational culture, representing the greatest challenge.

Objective:
To analyze the configuration of power relations among the multiprofessional team in the bedside round process in the hospital.
Methods:
Qualitative research with data analyzed through discourse analysis, based on Michel Foucault’s theoretical framework. From September to December 2022, we conducted interviews and field observations with the multiprofessional team at a hospital in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, as well as qualitative, semi-structured interviews with 37 professionals.
Results:
The participants pointed out that the experiences of the professionals involved in bedside rounds depend on how the physician conducts the process, and the physician-centered process makes it difficult for other professionals in the team to participate.
Final considerations:
The way hospitals organize bedside rounds does not promote knowledge articulation for their professionals. It hinders the circulation of power and harms interdisciplinary work in a process that maintains the physician as the main actor in clinical decisions.

Objectives:
to integrate evidence from studies on auditory perceptual and speech production effects in communication situations with face mask use.
Methods:
an integrative literature review, in MEDLINE, Cochrane Library and Embase databases. The guiding question was: what effects on communication (perceptual-auditory and speech production) occur with face mask use?
Results:
searches in electronic databases resulted in 1,478 studies and filtering resulted in 29 final studies.
Conclusions:
mask use has effects on communication, both in perception and speech production, factors that are also related to quality of life, stress and socio-emotional factors. These data can impact on indicators and alerts in favor of adopting strategies to manage mask use, involving speech production and perception when wearing a mask in health services.
