Objective:
To demonstrate the use of phytotherapy as a therapy adopted in the context of Primary Care to Childhood.
Method:
Observational and analytical field research, with quantitative-qualitative approach. A semi-structured survey was used on socio-demographic and ethnopharmacological variables, audio interview and daily observation.
Results:
The production of knowledge about phytotherapy constitutes a family heritage, but incorporated data resulting from the daily experiences shared by the community. The main factors were: easy access to this resource, high costs of conventional treatment, difficulty in accessing medical services and belief in the power of plants. The attributed meanings were: prevention and treatment of injuries, rescue of memory and of experiences, factor integrative with nature and aggregative among members of the community.
Final considerations:
Rescuing this tradition brings a new meaning to health care.

Objective:
Learn about the perception of health professionals who perform rapid tests in Health Centers (HCs).
Method:
This is a descriptive and qualitative study conducted in nine HCs in Recife. Data were collected through individual interviews and evaluated using Bardin’s content analysis, in its thematic category.
Results:
Challenges were observed in rapid tests related to the supply of products, physical structure, training for pre- and post-test counseling, and the need for improvements in permanent education actions.
Final considerations:
These issues can be resolved with management improvements, systematization of permanent education activities, and definition of care flows that enable early diagnosis. Besides the diagnosis, care lines should be created for people living with HIV and AIDS who use the HCs for early health care process.

Objective:
To analyze the social support of people with HIV/AIDS from the perspective of the Social Determinants of Health Model.
Method:
This was a cross-sectional study conducted in 2015 in an infectious disease outpatient clinic. The sample was made up of 116 people with HIV/AIDS. The data was collected through interviews, using a sociodemographic form and a social support scale. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, and Student’s t-tests and Mann-Whitney tests were performed to determine the association between social support and the social determinants of health.
Results:
Total social support was satisfactory, emotional support was influenced by smoking (p=0.0432) and instrumental support, by the number of people in the household (p=0.0003). The main source of instrumental and emotional support was relatives living outside the household, corresponding to 66.7% and 56.1%, respectively.
Conclusion:
It was found that smokers havelower emotional support and people living alone received less instrumental support.

Objective:
To carry out the National Immunization Program Information System (SIPNI) accessability assessment (EA), considering the description of the intervention, the elaboration of the theoretical-logical model and the identification of the evaluative questions.
Method:
A single case study with a qualitative approach, based on the system of seven elements proposed by Thurston and Ramaliu (2005). The SIPNI and the context of analysis, the vaccination rooms, were defined as the case.
Results:
The SIPNI description, based on documents and scientific evidence, made it possible to understand its operationalization, the main events that characterize it. The theoretical-logical model visually and systematically configured the SIPNI organization with details of the inputs, activities, products and expected effects. The evaluative questions were evaluated and validated to evaluate the SIPNI.
Final considerations:
The SIPNI is evaluable and presented a favorable scenario for its development. EA is an important strategy for planning subsequent evaluations, maximizing their potentials.

Objective:
To identify and analyze the perception of high school students about violence in intimacy relations in adolescence, in the light of the category Gender.
Method:
A qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, based on the comments of 27 adolescents participating in the online game, Papo Reto. The discourses were submitted to the analysis of thematic content and discussed in the light of the category Gender.
Results:
Adolescents naturalize violence in their relationships of intimacy, but when they recognize it, they react in several ways: with aggressions, dialoguing with the partner or seeking support from third parties.
Final considerations:
There were discordant perceptions regarding the phenomenon, most of which reiterated gender stereotypes. However, they reveal attitudes favorable to overcoming mainly related to the attainment of autonomy.

Objective:
to evaluate the satisfaction of users of a service that specializes in diabetes mellitus.
Method:
evaluative research, with mixed approach, developed at the Integrated Center for Diabetes and Hypertension of Barbalha-CE, in the period from 2011 to 2014, with 97 users. Data concerning the characterization and satisfaction of users in relation to the dimensions of infrastructure, accessibility and the user-health team relationship were collected.
Results:
77.3% were older adults, 88.7% women and 84.8%, retired. 63.9% of the users were satisfied with the service; however, dissatisfaction with the dimensions of infrastructure (offices, equipment and medicines) and accessibility (laboratory tests and medical consultations) was reported.
Final considerations:
most users revealed be satisfied with the service received considering the dimensions analyzed. However, studies that assess the satisfaction of users need to contemplate the participants’ reports and not rely on the use of previously structured forms only.

Objective:
To investigate socioeconomic and demographic differences regarding population aging in municipalities of the state of Pará, Brazil.
Method:
Ecological study with secondary demographic, socioeconomic and health data from the 144 municipalities of the state of Pará, Brazil. Data were treated with segmentation analysis, the Mann-Whitney U test and logistic regression models, with a significance level of p ≤ 0.05.
Results:
Segmentation analysis provided a single variable to describe aging in the municipalities of Pará and originated two clusters, the high and low aging rate ones, with 104 (72.22%) and 40 (27.78%) municipalities in each, respectively. The fitted model revealed an association between aging and per capita income (p = 0.021), vulnerability to poverty (p = 0.003), rich to poor ratio (p = 0.012) and density of people (p = 0.019).
Conclusion:
There is heterogeneity in the population aging among the municipalities of Pará, mainly regarding socioeconomic conditions and number of people living in the municipalities.

Objective:
To describe occurrences of mortality due to cervical cancer in Recife (PE), in northeastern Brazil.
Method:
This was a time-series ecological study using data from the Mortality Information System (SIM) regarding the total number of deaths due to cervical cancer (C53 ICD10) that occurred between 2000 and 2012.
Results:
It was observed that the risk of death due to this form of cancer was higher among women over 60 years of age, those of mixed skin color (53.24%), those who only worked at home (63.16%) and those who did not have a partner (44.32%).
Conclusion:
Additional efforts towards maintaining early detection and health education programs and towards using therapeutic strategies of greater efficiency are needed, given that mortality due to this form of cancer is considered avoidable when diagnosed early.

Objective:
To validate, with the target audience, the usability and appearance of a serialized album about the warning signs to the health of children below 2 months.
Method:
Methodological validation study with the target population of an educational material in the form of a serialized album. 11 mothers with children under 2 months of age participated. The domains evaluated were: Objectives, Organization, Writing Style, Appearance, and Motivation. Data were analyzed using descriptive and statistics, and the data agreement index was calculated.
Results:
The global data agreement index was high (0.99). Mothers had positive responses, recognizing the excellence of the material: attractive figures that were easy to understand.
Conclusion:
The validation of the serialized album provides mothers with the abilities and knowledge they need to identify warning signs in regard to the health of their children, providing them with autonomy, corresponsibility, and helping them develop better child health practices.

Objective:
To validate the Brazilian Portuguese translation and analyze the cultural adaptation of the Venous International Assessment Scale.
Methods:
Observational study by employing the Delphi technique and an equivalence evaluation by experts. The results were analyzed using item scores and by content validity index calculations of item, scale, and universal agreement.
Results:
Three rounds of evaluation were necessary for consensus. Explanatory contents were incorporated into the original scale throughout the process, resulting in a new version: VIA Scale – Revised. This scale obtained a content validity index of 0.96 and a universal agreement of 0.78. In the cross-cultural adequacy analysis phase, a score of 0.77 was obtained. The majority (90.5%) of the participants judged the scale’s decision support property as positive.
Conclusion:
The VIA Scale was validated and culturally adapted to the Brazilian Portuguese language, resulting in the VIA Scale – Revised (VIA-R).

Objective:
To analyze the effects of the technique of virtual reality guided imagery in the vital signs of hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation patients.
Method:
Quasi-experimental study with 35 participants who received an intervention using virtual reality guided imagery with progressive muscle relaxation, applied three times a week for four weeks in a referral hospital for transplants in the south of Brazil. Data collected included: temperature, arterial pressure, respiratory rate, heart rate, pain, and oxygen saturation, before and after each intervention. The comparisons were analyzed using Wilcoxon’s test.
Results:
There was a clinical significance between the mean measurements before and after for respiratory rate (p=0.00) in all stages, and for the variables Heart rate, Temperature, and Oxygen saturation from the 1st to the 12th measurements (p=0.05).
Conclusion:
The intervention was low cost, easy to apply, and showed positive effects, presenting itself as an option for patient-focused care.

Objective:
Semantically validate an educational technology with the caregiver of children and adolescents undergoing chemotherapy.
Method:
Methodological study, with a quantitative approach, guided by the theoretical framework of psychometry, developed between March and April 2022, with nine caregivers of children and adolescents undergoing chemotherapy. Educational technology is a digital animation film about the pediatric chemotherapy treatment process, used as a tool for health education.
Results:
In the reliability assessment, the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient was 0.936 [95%CI 0.868-0.984] with p < 0.05 and Cronbach’s alpha of 0.943, demonstrating satisfactory internal consistency. Regarding the semantic analysis, the domains related to objectives, organization, language, appearance, and motivation showed an agreement rate above 80%.
Conclusion:
Educational technology showed satisfactory rates, proving to be a valid, reliable, and important instrument to be used by caregivers of children and adolescents undergoing chemotherapy.

Method:
a reflective study, supported by the scientific literature on OSC.
Results:
five key points are crucial to advancing the science of symptom management through research involving OSC: definition of OSC characteristics; underlying mechanisms and priority symptom clusters; OSC measurement; targeted and personalized interventions; new analytical strategies.
Final considerations:
a better understanding of the complex connections between different systems and biobehavioral aspects in patients, especially in the field of oncology nursing, is urgent. The study of these interactions has become increasingly promising and emerging for oncology nursing, since therapeutic interventions, whose target is the neuroimmunoendocrine axis, are relevant for personalized care, translating into greater scientific and nurse autonomy to care for patients.

Objectives:
to analyze the prevalence of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus and the associated factors in pregnant women in the state of Pará.
Methods:
retrospective, analytical, quantitative study with a sample of 332 medical records of HIV-positive pregnant women hospitalized at the Referral Maternity Hospital in the state of Pará between 2010 and 2019. Bivariate and multivariate statistical analysis were performed with the variables collected.
Results:
the average prevalence in the period was 2.39% and the Metropolitan Region concentrated 66.87% of cases. There was a strong relationship between the number of antenatal consultations and lack of knowledge of serological status (p value equal to 0.01E-17) variables, and a correlation between the education and number of antenatal consultations variables.
Conclusions:
the increase in the infection rate during the study period revealed the need to intensify health actions, early diagnosis and strategies to improve adherence to antiretroviral treatment for maternal viral suppression and reduction of the risk of vertical transmission, contributing to improve public policies.

Objectives:
to analyze the occurrence of respiratory complications over the first year of life in preterm infants who did not receive palivizumab monoclonal antibodies.
Methods:
analytical retrospective cohort study with preterm infants born between 2012 and 2016 in Uberlândia, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Data collection occurred from January to November 2018, by consulting hospital and primary healthcare medical records. Data were processed with the Poisson regression model, with p<0.05.
Results:
of a total of 5,213 preterm births, 504 (9.7%) met the inclusion criteria. The preterm infants in this subset were assisted 2,899 times in primary care, which resulted in 1,098 (37.5%) medical diagnoses, of which 803 (78.5%) involved the respiratory tract. Preterm babies fed on formula milk at hospital discharge had more diagnoses of respiratory diseases. Maternal age (p=0.039), respiratory diagnosis at hospital discharge (p=0.028), and number of sporadic appointments (p<0.001) showed a significant association with bronchiolitis; number of sporadic appointments showed a significant association with occurrence of respiratory diseases; and breastfeeding had a protective effect against the development of bronchiolitis.
Conclusions:
preterm infants who did not receive palivizumab showed a high percentage of respiratory diseases, and breastfeeding helped protect them against bronchiolitis. It is recommended that these preterm babies be monitored in primary health care.

Objectives:
to present the validation process of a Grounded Theory on the management of palliative care at home by a caregiver of a family member who experiences a death/dying process.
Methods:
a qualitative, explanatory research, which validated a theoretical matrix through a conversation circle containing 15 family caregivers and nine healthcare professionals, in December 2018.
Results:
forty-six propositions were validated regarding family caregivers’ contextual, causal, intervening conditions, consequences and action strategies to deal with the dying and death process of a family member. Conversation circles encouraged dialogue and (re)signification of the senses and knowledge of those involved, proving to be a way of educating and promoting the exercise of citizenship by participants.
Final Considerations:
the conversation circle made it possible for participants to interact and share information and experiences regarding home care for palliative patients and their families.

Objective:
To assess quality of life, prevalence of depressive and minor psychiatric symptoms in Nursing students.
Methods:
Cross-sectional study, conducted from March to April 2018, at a federal university. Sample composed of 242 Nursing students, from the 1st to the 8th semester. Data was collected using the quality of life instruments, Beck Depression Inventory and Self-Report Questionnaire. A significance level of 0.05 was considered.
Results:
The mean age was 22.9 ± 5.1 years. It was found that 25% of the students had severe depressive symptoms and 54% of the students had minor psychiatric disorders, with a higher prevalence in the first semesters. An inverse relationship was observed between the frequency of depressive symptoms and quality of life scores (p = 0.05).
Conclusion:
Nursing students showed a high prevalence of depressive symptoms, indicating the importance of implementing actions to promote and prevent mental health.

Objective:
To analyze the understanding of the professionals working on the Family Health Support by about permanent education and matrix support in the daily routine of primary health care.
Methods:
Descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the participation of 19 professionals from different backgrounds. The results were organized based on Thematic Content Analysis.
Results:
Thematic categories emerged from the analysis: Permanent Health Education: knowledge and daily activities; Matrix support as a premise of Permanent Health Education; The principle of integrality as the foundation of the supporting teams; Conditions of praxis in the promotion of Permanent Health Education.
Final Considerations:
The study evidenced that professionals experience their routines within the service and that the sharing of knowledge to transform the reality of users and the territory is based on matrix support and integrality. However, they face structural difficulties in carrying out actions.

Objectives:
to evaluate two instruments for screening frailty in the elderly in Primary Health Care.
Methods:
this is an observational, cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach, with 396 elderly people. SPSS software helped to perform the statistical analyses. The study used the kappa coefficient and Spearman’s correlation.
Results:
the kappa coefficient between the Clinical-Functional Vulnerability Index 20 and the Edmonton Frailty Scale was 0.496, considered moderate. There was a positive and significant correlation (r = 0.77; p < 0.001) between the frailty conditions and the total score of the two instruments.
Conclusions:
when this article assessed fragility through the kappa coefficient, both instruments presented positive correlation and agreement. However, the identification of frailty was higher when it used the Edmonton Frailty Scale.

Objectives:
To identify the knowledge and practice of primary care nurses about the social network approach for families of children with chronic diseases.
Methods:
Qualitative research, conducted by means of interviews with 23 family health nurses, from one municipality in Paraíba and one in Rio de Janeiro, from June to July of 2017. The data were interpreted using thematic analysis.
Results:
Social network meant institutional support offered by services outside the unit, and socioeconomic problems involved the family context. In practice, nurses find it difficult to provide comprehensive care and establish ties with families. When referring to other professionals, a weakness in the counter-referral to the family health unit is found.
Final considerations:
Some gaps were found regarding the knowledge and practice of nurses regarding the social network approach, which requires professional training to strengthen social relationships and the necessary support for families of children with chronic diseases.

Objective:
To analyze the strategies, challenges and possibilities of the articulation between mental health and primary health care from the perspective of health managers.
Method:
Exploratory, qualitative research carried out with 28 managers of mental health and primary care. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews between July and November 2013 and submitted to thematic content analysis.
Results:
The inclusion of mental health actions in primary care made it possible, in the view of managers, to increase users’ access to the care they need. This care strategy allows the extension of care practices in the territory, with matrix support as the main tool for the implementation of this care strategy.
Final considerations:
The articulation between primary care and mental health is a powerful device for psychosocial care, but it demands a new conformation of the Psychosocial Care Centers (Caps) and primary care services.

Objective:
identify the occurrence of delirium in aged patients assisted in emergency services and verify its relationship with sociodemographic and clinical variables.
Method:
cross-sectional, prospective study with a quantitative approach. Two hundred aged hospitalized patients participated. The Confusion Assessment Method was used for data collection. For statistical analysis, chi-square tests, likelihood ratio and Fisher’s test were used, with a significance level of 5%.
Results:
male gender and mean age of 71.8 years were predominant. In the first 24 hours of hospitalization, 56 (28%) aged individuals presented delirium. An association of the disease with lack of physical activity, presence of a caregiver, hypertension, dyslipidemia and cerebrovascular diseases was identified.
Conclusion:
Delirium was associated with no physical activity, the need of a caregiver, and the presence of comorbidities. The importance of conducting other studies that may lead to early identification of the condition to prevent its complications is emphasized.

Objectives:
to analyze the perception and conflict management strategies used by nurses in the management of people in Portuguese health services.
Methods:
descriptive, correlational study, carried out in Portuguese health services, with an intentional non-probabilistic sample, totaling 95 nurse managers. A questionnaire and Conflict Management Scale were used, analyzing the variables of managerial activities and conflict management, with the aid of software.
Results:
it was identified that 60% of the managers, report having to mediate conflicts daily, and the majority report adopting dialogue in conduct. However, through the Kruskal-Wallis test, it was shown that enforcement strategies in conflict management prevail (p = 0.008), with collaborative ones being more restricted to monthly intervals (p = 0.049).
Conclusions:
managers perceive the importance of collaboration in the mediation of conflicts, however, in their daily lives; they tend to maintain imposing behaviors, signaling for a little transformational leadership style.
