Objective:
to analyze the stigma characteristics perceived in the experience of men who had COVID-19.
Method:
this qualitative study involved men living in Brazil, diagnosed with COVID-19, who answered semi-structured questions in an online form. Data were subjected to thematic and lexical analysis, interpreted in the light of the stigma theory.
Results:
92 men, adults, cisgender, heterosexual, of mixed race/color, belonging to middle class, living in the urban area, with higher education participated. The stigma characteristics evidenced were the occurrence of leave, perception of impolite treatment, use of labels and discrimination by co-workers, family members, neighbors and even healthcare professionals, with consequences for the psycho-emotional dimension.
Final considerations:
discrimination and exclusion derived from stigma surprised men marked by class and gender privileges, little used to being downgraded in interactions when compared to other groups.

Objective:
To analyze the suffering and coping strategies of nurses working in Primary Health Care considering the psychodynamics of their work.
Methods:
Descriptive study with a qualitative approach, carried out with 11 nurses working in Primary Health Care. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, systematized, and interpreted using Bardin’s content analysis method applied to recurrent themes.
Results:
The suffering factors related to work in Primary Health Care are difficulties with management, the fragile structure of the health support network, and conflicts with the users. Defensive strategies to minimize these difficulties are the support of hierarchical superiors, the empowerment of the community and users, and communication between team members.
Final considerations:
It is important that there be changes in the organization of this line of work to improve the workers’ health.

Objectives:
To build and validate a clinical simulation scenario designed to instruct community health workers (CHWs) in active leprosy case detection.
Methods:
Methodological study involving the development of a simulated clinical scenario and content validation by experts. The Content Validity Index (CVI) was used to determine the level of agreement among the judging commitee, and a descriptive analysis of their recommendations was performed.
Results:
A simulated scenario with a simulated participant was developed — a simulation characterized by low complexity, moderate physical/environmental fidelity, moderate to high psychological fidelity, and high conceptual fidelity, lasting 50 minutes and capable of training up to 10 CHWs simultaneously. The scenario was validated by 14 experts, with a CVI exceeding 80% for all components.
Conclusions:
The validated clinical simulation possesses attributes that make it highly reproducible in various national health contexts, thereby contributing to the global “Towards Zero Leprosy” strategy.

Objectives:
to understand the ethical problems experienced by primary health care nurses in using nursing teleconsultations for people living with the human immunodeficiency virus during the coronavirus pandemic.
Methods:
qualitative research, anchored in Constructivist Grounded Theory. Data was collected between July and September 2020, with 17 participants.
Results:
the first category highlights the ethical problems in conducting teleconsultations, managing high demand, communication barriers, and risks related to data security. The second emphasizes the potential of teleconsultations in communication and access, by generating changes in the work process and the use of protocols to guide clinical practice.
Conclusions:
nurses’ work in digital mode requires professional qualification, with a view to stimulating reflection on teleconsultation practice, ethical-moral deliberation and combating stigma, and also adopting data security-centered conduct.

Objectives:
to reflect on the ethical dilemmas involved in the care of patients at the end of their lives.
Methods:
this is a theoretical-reflective study based on the ethics of care proposed by Luigina Mortari.
Results:
discussing care involves addressing the ways of being inherent to human existence and understanding the unique characteristics of this condition. Ethical care constitutes an action driven by interest in the other and by the perception of their need. Ethical dilemmas are a part of end-of-life care, making it essential to maintain respectful assistance that considers the patient’s autonomy, using strategies for expressing their wishes, and ensuring continuous clear and empathetic communication among all those involved in providing care.
Final Considerations:
issues related to being, stemming from one’s reality of dependency and vulnerability, contribute to the emergence of ethical dilemmas present in care actions.

Objective:
To investigate in the literature the relation of socioeconomic factors in the incidence of the disease and other outcomes related to leprosy.
Method:
Integrative review conducted in Lilacs, Medline, Scopus databases and SciELO online library with studies from 2000 to 2016.
Results:
32 studies were included. Only studies that analyzed statistical associations of socioeconomic factors and outcomes related to leprosy were selected.
Conclusion:
Leprosy is greatly affected by the social context in which the patient is inserted, the chances of exposure to illness are the result of a set of not only individual aspects, but also of contexts or collective conditions. It is imperative for Nursing, as an essential part of the multiprofessional team entrusted with the care and surveillance of the disease, to recognize these factors to predict unfavorable outcomes and to develop new practices capable of reducing inequities.

Objective:
To evaluate the effect of educational intervention in the adherence to self-care activities and functional health literacy and numeracy in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Methods:
This was a quasi-experimental study conducted in two units of the Brazilian Family Health Strategy, involving people with diabetes. Educational interventions occurred in three meetings, weekly, lasting 60 minutes on average. Data were collected using the Questionário de Autocuidado com o Diabetes, before and after the interventions.
Results:
55 people participated in the study. After the interventions, the greatest difference for a better adherence to self-care was the item “inspecting the inside of the shoes before putting them on”, with 3.29 days in the week delta at analytical level. The worst was “taking insulin shots as recommended”, with 0.00 days a week delta at basic level.
Conclusion:
Educational interventions had a positive effect on adherence to self-care and functional literacy in health.

Objective:
to analyze the occurrence of violence in the elderly and its associated factors in the city of Betim, Minas Gerais.
Method:
cross-sectional study constituted by a population survey conducted through structured interviews. The sample was stratified by clusters and included 178 elderly people at the end. Data were analyzed by the chi-square test and was performed a Correspondence Analysis.
Results:
The most prevalent forms of violence were: lack of access to social rights (31%), verbal violence (22%), moral/psychological (19%), lack of care (16%), physical violence (6%), sexual (3%) and discrimination (3%). Women suffered more abuse than men and violence had greater association with the degree of depressive symptoms.
Conclusion:
our research has direct implication for the sectors interested in coping with violence in the elderly, especially for nurses, because it shows violence is part of a cycle with characteristic associated factors that conforms a model nested mainly in the family relationship.

Objectives:
to present the concept of Knowledge Translation and Exchange as it has been used in the international literature and in Canada, particularly. Next, to describe a renowned conceptual model to guide its implementation, entitled Knowledge-to-Action Cycle.
Results:
we described the use of the model in the context of the municipal primary health care system in southern Brazil for the implementation of pain management strategies during vaccination.
Conclusions:
in this theoretical reflection, we argue that in order to promote health equity and quality of care in the Unified Health System (Brazilian SUS) it is important to translate scientific knowledge to various practice settings and create opportunities for exchange with users of this knowledge, such as health professionals, managers, policy makers, patients, family members and other stakeholders.

Objectives:
to identify the scientific evidence on the development of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases due to workplace contamination by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
Methods:
integrative literature review. The search for primary articles was held in October 2017 in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (through Pubmed), Web of Science and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS).
Results:
the 16 studies analyzed showed that exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons was associated with cardiovascular diseases, such as increased blood pressure, heart rate variation, and ischemic heart disease; and respiratory disorders, such as decreased lung function, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, wheeze, coughing, pulmonary wheezing, chest tightness, effort dyspnea, and sore throat.
Conclusions:
polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons cause deleterious effects on the cardiovascular and respiratory systems through mutations and cellular inflammation, being a risk to exposed individuals.
