Objectives:
to translate and cross-culturally adapt the MISSCARE Survey-Ped for use in Brazil.
Methods:
a methodological study proposed by translation, synthesis of translations, back-translation, assessment by a committee of experts and pre-testing with the target population.
Results:
two direct translations of the instrument were carried out, followed by a consensual version between them. This synthetic version was back-translated and analyzed by a committee of five experts in pediatric nursing and patient safety, obtaining a Content Validity Index (CVI) of 0.95 and Cronbach’s alpha of 0.804. The final version was sent for pre-testing with 254 Brazilian pediatric nurses, with 44 (17.3%) analyzing the instrument for understanding (CVI 0.866; Content Validity Ratio (CVR) 0.773), relevance (CVI 0.931; CVR 0.864) and relevance (CVI 0.977; CVR 0.955).
Conclusions:
the MISSCARE Survey-Ped Brasil was considered suitable for application in pediatric nurses’ clinical practice in the country.

Objectives:
to map the constituent elements of the safe mobility concept present in hospital care for older adults.
Methods:
a scoping review of 35 articles searched in databases and gray literature – BDENF/VHL, Scopus, CINAHL/EBSCO, Embase, Web of Science, PEDro, MEDLINE/PubMed and CAPES Theses and Dissertations Catalog. No time or language cut-off was established.
Results:
none of the studies presented a clear safe mobility concept, however its constituent elements involve factors related to patient (behavioral factors, conditions, diseases, signs and symptoms, nutritional status, age, balance, strength, gait quality, sleep), the institution (environment, treatment devices, guidelines, medications and polypharmacy, material and human resources and clothing/shoes) and the nature of the interventions (related to the patient, institution and family).
Final Considerations:
the constituent elements of safe mobility express hospital units’ capacity to guarantee care and protection from fall accidents for hospitalized older adults.

Objectives:
to estimate the prevalence of depressive levels and their associated factors among transvestite and transsexual individuals.
Methods:
this cross-sectional study involved 58 participants assisted by non-governmental organizations. The Beck Depression Inventory was utilized to assess levels of depression, complemented by a sociodemographic questionnaire and a questionnaire on experiences of violence. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Poisson regression with robust variance.
Results:
a prevalence of 27.6% (95% CI = 11.50-39.10) for moderate to severe levels of depression was observed. This prevalence was associated with being unmarried (PR = 1.19; 95% CI = 1.10-1.28) and experiencing violence in healthcare services (PR = 2.30; 95% CI = 1.10-4.81).
Conclusions:
the absence of a partner and experiences of violence in healthcare settings negatively impacted mental health, leading to an increased prevalence of depressive symptoms among transvestite and transsexual individuals. Advocating for transgender rights and providing ongoing education in health care for professionals are critical strategies in promoting the mental health of this population.

Objectives:
to analyze the relationship between the nursing practice environment and hospital sociotechnical complexity as perceived by nurses.
Methods:
a sequential explanatory mixed-methods study was conducted in a hospital in southern Brazil. The Brazilian version of the Practice Environment Scale-Nursing Work Index and the Complexity Characterization Questionnaire were administered to 132 nurses. Subsequently, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 18 participants, and the data were subjected to thematic analysis. Data integration was achieved through a connection approach.
Results:
the nursing practice environment was found to be favorable, except in the subscale concerning Staffing and Resource Adequacy, where complexity was present in the activities. The three emerging categories explained human and technical aspects related to complexity in the practice environment, quality of care, and patient safety. Unexpected variability was inversely correlated with the practice environment.
Conclusions:
the study results indicate a relationship between these constructs, with implications for the quality and the safety of care.

Objectives:
to identify and synthesize scientific evidence on the barriers and difficulties for Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) use and compliance for HIV.
Methods:
an integrative literature review, using the MEDLINE/PubMed, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Academic Search Premier and Scopus (Elsevier) databases.
Results:
all (100%) the articles included identified that PrEP users experience some type of structural barrier related to health services such as long distance from the units, suboptimal logistics for taking pills and professional resistance to prescribing PrEP. Furthermore, 63.21% identified social barriers, such as stigma about sexuality and HIV, in addition to individual barriers such as alcohol use, adverse effects, and concerns about long-term toxicity.
Conclusions:
the barriers to PrEP use are multifactorial. Effective interventions are needed to support PrEP users in accessing, complying with, and retaining health services.
