Objective:
To identify predictors of stunting among children 0-24 months in Southeast Asia.
Methods:
This scoping review focused on articles with observational study design in English published from 2012 to 2023 from five international databases. The primary keyword used were: “stunting” OR “growth disorder” AND “newborn” AND “predict” AND “Southeast Asia”.
Results:
Of the 27 articles selected for the final analysis there are thirteen predictors of stunting in seven Southeast Asia countries. The thirteen predictors include the child, mother, home, inadequate complementary feeding, inadequate breastfeeding, inadequate care, poor quality foods, food and water safety, infection, political economy, health and healthcare, water, sanitation, and environment, and social culture factor.
Conclusion:
All these predictors can lead to stunting in Southeast Asia. To prevent it, health service providers and other related sectors need to carry out health promotion and health prevention according to the predictors found.

Objectives:
to synthesize scientific evidence on vaccine hesitancy in children under five years of age and its associated factors.
Methods:
a scoping review, conducted according to the methodological structure proposed by the JBI. Searches were carried out in the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information, Scientific Electronic Library Online and PubMed databases, including gray literature. Studies in English, Spanish and Portuguese were included, without temporal delimitation. Editorials, studies that did not address vaccine hesitancy in children under five years of age and were not aligned with the objective and research question were excluded. The sample consisted of 18 articles.
Results:
misinformation, concern about adverse effects, distrust about efficacy, affliction regarding administration simultaneously, and insecurity in relation to the laboratories were the reported reasons.
Conclusions:
strategies are needed to combat the lack of information about immunobiological agents, as misinformation was the main factor in parents’ vaccine hesitation.

Objective:
to understand the experiences and coping strategies of children and adolescents with chronic illnesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods:
a descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, carried out with six children and adolescents at the reception of an outpatient clinic of a pediatric hospital in the state of Ceará. Data collection took place from April to September 2021, using story-drawing, analyzed in light of Coutinho’s criteria.
Results:
two thematic categories emerged: Situations experienced by children and adolescents in times of COVID-19; Coping strategies for children and adolescents in their chronic illness process during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Final considerations:
understanding the experiences and coping strategies of children and adolescents with chronic illness demonstrated the expression of creative imagination, incorporated by subjective components, which brings to light an approximation with the reality perceived and interpreted in a context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objectives:
to analyze the climate seasonality of respiratory diseases in children aged 0-9 years and present a model to predict hospital admissions for 2021 to 2022.
Methods:
verify, in a temporal manner, the correlation of admissions for pneumonia, bronchitis/bronchiolitis, and asthma with meteorological variables, aiming to demonstrate seasonality with the adjustment of temporal series models.
Results:
there was a seasonal effect in the number of registered cases for all diseases, with the highest incidence of registrations in the months of autumn and winter.
Conclusions:
it was possible to observe a tendency towards a decrease in the registration of pneumonia cases; In cases of admissions due to bronchitis and bronchiolitis, there was a slight tendency towards an increase; and, in occurrence rates of asthma, there was no variation in the number of cases.

Objective:
To report the experience of applying the Safe Child® Method for inserting earrings in children’s earlobes.
Method:
Experience report. The method is organized in order to explain the procedure’s protocol with three steps: 1) Pre-service guidelines; 2) Perforation of the earlobe; and 3) Post-procedure orientations, carried out exclusively at home, lasting approximately one hour and 30 minutes.
Results:
Earlobe perforation occurs using pharmacological and non-pharmacological relaxation techniques, with the inclusion of the family, to promote care that is free from damage and trauma.
Final considerations:
The method aims to protect the child’s physical and emotional health, providing a pleasant experience for the binomial. The techniques and actions used, based on scientific evidence, allow the practice of humanized care, with the empowerment of nurses and autonomy beyond health services.

Describe the experience of extension activities in the prevention of COVID-19 with children from public school system.
Methods:
Experience report of critical and reflexive approach on the extension experience of the project “Healthcare at School” (Atenção à Saúde na Escola), in the COVID-19 pandemic context, in a countryside town in the State of Goias, in March 2020.
Results:
It is carried out five hand sanitizing workshops as a prevention for COVID-19 with 57 children from 2 to 5 years old in the State of Goias.
Final Considerations:
The playful approach in a low-cost workshop format was a strategy to meet an emergency requirement of the Community in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objectives:
to discuss the (in)visibility of children with special healthcare needs and their families in the Primary Health Care scenario.
Methods:
experience report about the difficulties faced by researchers from different regions of Brazil to locate children with special healthcare needs in the scope of primary care.
Results:
the main reason for these children and their families to be “unknown” and, therefore, not assisted in PHC, is the fact that they are followed-up by institutions/outpatient clinics and specialized and/or public rehabilitation clinics, or even because they have private health insurance.
Final Considerations:
transferring care responsibility to the Primary Health Care teams to specialized and rehabilitation institutions may be related to the lack of knowledge of the care demands of this group, as well as to the relevance of care centered on rehabilitation and the specialty instead of the long-term care, one of the features of primary health care.

Objective:
To examine the impact of the infection by the novel coronavirus on Brazilian children in situation of social vulnerability based on the Millennium Sustainable Development Goals.
Method:
Reflective study based on discursive formulation in three aspects: principles of the objectives and goals for the millennium sustainable development; impact of the pandemic on the health of children and their families living in social vulnerability; and the role of pediatric nursing in the care provided - limits and challenges.
Results:
In January 2020, the news of COVID 19 is released as a pandemic. In Brazil, children and families are still without access to basic rights, thereby increasing their risks of social vulnerability because of the quarantine. The nursing field has an important role in monitoring children and their families, offering guidance in search for solutions and preventing contamination.
Conclusion:
There are still challenges to be overcome by the children and their families in situations of vulnerability against COVID-19.
