Objective:
To analyze the evidence on the influence of Lean and/or Six Sigma for process optimization in the perioperative period.
Methods:
Integrative review carried out in the MEDLINE (PubMed), Web of Science, EMBASE, CINAHL, Scopus and LILACS databases on the use of Lean and/or Six Sigma to optimize perioperative processes. The studies included were analyzed in three thematic categories: flow of surgical patients, work process and length of stay.
Results:
The final sample consisted of ten studies, which covered all operative periods. Lean and/or Six Sigma make a significant contribution to optimizing perioperative processes.
Final considerations:
Lean and/or Six Sigma optimize perioperative processes to maximize the achievement of system stability indicators, making it possible to identify potential problems in order to recognize them and propose solutions that can enable the institution of patient-centered care.

Objective:
to identify factors that lead the teacher to experience violence in their pedagogical practice in health education.
Method:
research with a qualitative approach, based on the Grounded Theory, conducted with 11 professors of the nursing course of a public university in the central region of Brazil in 2020 and 2021. Online semi-structured interviews were analyzed partially in the light of the Constructivist Grounded Theory.
Results:
factors that lead lecturer to experience violence are characterized by institutional culture, gender, professor’s perception of violence, and the triggers that drive students to commit violence. Social status and inequalities lead to positions of domination and, consequently, create a fertile ground for violence.
Final Considerations:
analyzing violence under Bourdieu’s theory, it is clear that student violence towards lecturer and the reports contained in this study deserve pedagogical reflection. However, it is necessary to include these discussions as a background in teaching environments.

Objectives:
to analyze the level of nurses’ engagement in political advocacy by performing cluster analysis.
Methods:
observational study, with a quantitative approach. A total of 184 nurses working in primary, secondary, and tertiary care in a city in the south of Brazil completed the Policy Advocacy Engagement Scale. Data analysis consisted of descriptive statistics, cluster analysis, analysis of variance, and chi. The Institutional Review Board approved the study.
Results:
four differentiated clusters were found according to professional experience, level of healthcare complexity, and unit. The cluster analysis revealed that patient advocacy for community-based obtained the highest mean, indicating that political advocacy is effective in organizational environments and that professional qualification favors greater engagement in political advocacy.
Conclusions:
the results reveal that nurses play an active role in political advocacy, seeking to promote positive changes in health, especially those working in tertiary care, the nurse group that obtained the highest means.

Data collection took place from September 2017 to April 2018 using self-administered questionnaires that investigated socio-occupational variables and the effects of work (Work-Related Damage Assessment Scale). Analysis was descriptive and analytical with a 5% significance level.
Results:
during the day shift, the variables that most influenced nursing professionals’ health were body pain, headache, back pain, legs pain, and sleep disorders. When comparing the shifts, it was identified that daytime influences the studied variables more than nighttime. Job tenure was correlated with psychological damage.

Objectives:
to analyze the understanding of homeless people living in a city in the countryside of São Paulo about what health is and about their experiences in health services.
Methods:
a qualitative exploratory study developed through interviews with homeless people and a field diary. The data were organized by themes and the findings were compared to a collective health framework.
Results:
the explored themes were: “Being healthy for the homeless population”, “The search for health services” and “Being a user of health services from the perspective of homeless people”. We present the interviewees’ understanding of health and their experiences in healthcare services. Along this path, we outline aspects that show the network’s weaknesses, permeated by prejudices and discrimination.
Final Considerations:
this population has conceptions about health and needs that need to be singularly taken into consideration to facilitate access and care.
